At the rate things are moving on this project you are going to be late and broke come June & July. We all wanna see ya out on the water.
On a side note, I was just looking at the RSVP list for Parker. I'm just guessing here but it looks to me like there will be very few boats that will do 60+mph and even less that are going to be pushing 85mph. Building your "BigDog" motor should take all the time and caution that you can spare. Don't rush it for Parker in June.
Yeah that was taken into consideration, and even went to the salvage yard... They said $350 for a engine with no gaurantees it will run and i have to pull it out. I have even looked for junker cars/truck on the side of the road 4 sale, but nothing worth chancing.. At this point i dont care what engine i put in it as long as it runs.....Not even worried about speed that will come later.......... No way im making Parker.

I have to take the block back to the machine shop, to hone the cylinders , install cam bearings and whatever else needs to be done. Another $200 and he will install the kit...... Come on tax check..........

I have a bitchen block now,All machine work is payed for already just need to get my pistons. 429heads is hooking me up on the heads (payment plan) I might have a good crank.. And with this stimulus check, i might be on the water sooner than you think

« on: May 20, 2008, 11:31:00 AM »we run a droop on the cj410 rogers with a 2 degree up wedge . i installed it this way after talking to roger wyman when i first set the boat up to race. seems to work just fine.
This is the same set up im running , but my pump has a 4 degree down angle..
You need to finish the boat and get it on the water.
Then you can start trying different things. At this point you can take information, get upset and start making changes without even knowing if what you have is good or not.
Words of wisdom.. My whole intention is to run what i have installed, just because it dont work for some dont mean it wont work for me... Im not tearing apart the Bahner!!! No phuckin way... This might sound weird , but i love that boat
I have put my life into this pile not to mention my wallet Was just looking for some Rogers owners/drivers and see what they say..

Anybody running a Rogers hull or bottom with a droop? if so how does it run.. I am being told by a few people that i screwed up by installing a droop and cutting the ride plate.. I guess from what they are saying the Bahner has a Rogers bottom to it and the droop will cause it to porpoise and slow it down??
