I never drink when I'm away from home. Seen too many accidents. Plus I carry my .45 when we go out. Like to have it for snakes (the slithering kind and the two legged version lol).

And you wonder why they talk soo much about gun control ::)

Remember some waters are FEDERAL, carry your gun.....go to jail do not pass go , do not collect bail money ;D

Since your startin from scratch , just make sure your following your engine builders instructions or whomever's instruction you'll be taking . It's always good to get opinions and bounce ideas off of people and then run them by your builder . Good luck and we're here to help .

-beerjet-

Thanks Omar ;)

As far as my engine builder go's  I dont have one. I might end up letting the machine shop build it, short block only which i think is my safest bet....  But you know me , i might pull something else out my ass :o

We changed all 16 springs oops I watched Ryan change the springs , His heads had big
plugs and I couldn't find leak down adapter I made 1 from one his plugs. A couple of spring
would not even close valve, Ran motor on trailer and I could here rocker noise, We used my
compressor air to replace springs on motor good thing it gave US good read on heads they
all sealed OK to remove the springs. Old springs where less than 90 lb and he could turn them on head, new springs that I had ran 110lb  plus and were taller by buy at least 1/8, now
all he has to do is retest, Love my stud mount spring puller drops over center to hold spring down, He did all 16 springs in an hour.

Fixed it for ya ;)

Allright Bahner boy thats about enough lip out of you !   It realy dosnt matter what pistons you use because the only time any of your "project boats" get wet is wen you wash them  :screwy:.  Why dont you save yourself some money and stress and just sit in the boat makeing vroom vroom noises while the wife mists you with a hose  ::).  Besides every one knows Chevy powered boats are faster on the trailer than on the water.  >:D ;D

Thats funny cause i do sit in it making noises and drinking my beer, Im still trying to convince the woman to do the mist thing......I think im getting closer ;)

8.62:1... ouch. I'm surprised those pistons with the small dome don't have any intake valve relief cut into them.  ???

Curious where did you get those compression ratio numbers at? I got mine from the guy that re-rebuilt my engine for me and it was his "best guess" without doing any math.

Summits website is where i found these little gems.

Rod thats great info, i apreciate it VERY much.   Well i was thinking Hypers to save some money, but i guess in the long run it will just cost me more than buying the forged to begin with. So that is what i will do ;)

I was thinking about these as my choices. TRW forged pistons

Dome top will put me at 10.35:1 with 100.9cc heads

Flat top will put me at 8.62:1 with 100.9cc heads

I just dont want to make the same mistake as i did when i was mentally ill and trying to build a FORD :banghead:

I know what you're saying about the plain look of it all, but in my eyes the people that are interested in these seats are wanting a slimmed down interior, no frills, just good looks. Am I wrong?

Thats exactly why i went with the glass seats...and when the boat is finished and dialed in, i will be making my order for the bench seat and upholstery ;)

Just something about the glass seats that i love ;)
