Go to install gasket for fuel fill and find out it's for 2" fill. Mine is 2 1/2"

That's what I did on my last boat. I have the ball valves on my work bench. I would just need hose fittings and clamps.

Anyway to test it to see if it's working without have to run engine? I'm seriously thinking of just buying some ball valves at Lowes and plumbing them in, but it's such a hassle to climb back and switch them (not to mention it's not good to run the motor out of gas).

Update:
Got her tuned up. Timing was way out. Special thanks to Paul for timing advice (I will definitely be ordering the recurved Duraspark from Scott). I got registration done for boat and trailer. I installed new gas pedal (that thing sure is purdy!). I also bolted down seats and replaced missing bimini bracket.
To do still
Install fuel filler gasket
Install bilge pump (center pump is toast!)
Install batteries (Special thanks to Jared for core)
Test fuel tank switch (I may just go get ball valves at Lowes, I never trust electric ones)
Replace 4 broken marker lights
Test trailer wiring
Pull out old boat box and see what safety gear I need to get
Clean bimini (I hate freakin cats!!!) and find a boot for it
I should be able to finish most of that by tomorrow. Today is just too dang hot!!! Hope to be on the river this Saturday to do some testing and have it really ready to go for next Friday or Saturday.

I'm starting to think about blowing off the amp for now and just running off the receiver. I think it's about 40-50 watts. Then I'll think about glassing in some wood blocks under the bow (give the amp some room to breathe) this winter. I'm just thinking it's more likely to get bumped around up there since that's where I stuff all my junk (chairs, pop up, vests, etc.).

Interior / stupid stereo amp mounting question

Okay, so I'm trying to think where to put the amp for my stereo. I'm running a Kenwood deck mounted (under dash), with JBL 6x9's in boxes with some extra wire to pop em up on deck while at the sandbar, and a JBL 300w amp. There's not a lot of room for it up front. I'm wondering if I can get away with mounting it in engine compartment (back of back seat). Does anyone have experience mounting amps in the engine bay? Pros and cons of it? I know if a water line springs a leak, the amp would be screwed. I'm also curious how fumes would effect it, could it spark enough switching on to ignite fumes? I do eventually plan to remove the "Mt. St. Baker's" dome (as Ray named it 
) but it has to stay for now and I need to put new blower hose in and plan to run the blower before start up.

Jet Pumps / Diverter control question

Okay, stupid question of the week. My diverter control is mounted to a huge carpeted block of wood (shaped to fit tunnel). It sits outside of my left leg as I'm seated. I assume at one time it was screwed down to the floor/tunnel. Right now it is not attached and could flop around a bit over rough chop. My question is can I leave it loose for now since I'm not sure where I want to mount it (forward or back)? I'm just worried that it could pop out of position with a heavy enough hit.

I've learned from Paul and Jon Kaase that stock blocks are good to 800-1000hp with the right parts, but my "lottery" motor will have one of these blocks!!!

Welcome to scjb. Sounds like fuel issue to me too. Fuel pump might not be keeping up. They are pricey but I ran Edelbrock pump on my bbc camaro. Don't know how they do for marine application, but worked good for street.

This is my first boat with logs. Water system exits in to be risers. Does it exit on the back side of the risers? I'm worried about water backflowing into the engine.

Got her fired up. Runs ok, no leaks 
Still need throttle pedal (ordered today), gas filler gasket (ordered today), bilge pump (just noticed it's not working), batteries, air filter (just has spark arrester), and trailer marker lights (maybe wiring). Should be on the river by next weekend.

I have to go to San Diego tomorrow for Dr Appointment. I'm needing to find a few parts. Can anyone recommend a shop to pick up a new floor mount throttle pedal and I also need a rebuild kit for an old flip top style fuel fill. I know I can order them from a number online suppliers. I was just hoping to save some shipping since I'm going to be in the area and I've exhausted my local resources.

I will need to re-install guages, steering (he replaced cable but needed new style helm), gas pedal, and finish installing fuel lines and I should be able to get it on the water. As you can see, I will have to finish stripping old clear coat off and then sand and buff it. Interior is super clean. Motor and pump just got freshened up. I'm so excited about it!

Not mine, I did look at it. Paint seriously faded, and interior rough (he has new seat covers). It's a Biesemeyer. 460/JC combo. Bimini is in good shape but needs new straps. Trailer is rough and needs new bunks, but he will go down to $1500.
