Are you his favorite neighbor who started installing his carpet while he worked?
If so, nice man....

I'm his roommate, I just help him when I can and vice versa.

Made a plate to bolt my diverter handle to since the old holes we blown out. 9 screws on the plate then the 5 on the diverter handle.

Then made a little plate to mount to pull switches for my bilge pumps. One any auto with a float and the other a manual. The old setup was all messed up. This will get polished.

Lastly I attempted to fix the clusterfuk of wiring to the gauges. No picture, thank goodness.

Also helped teamwindle22 with his fiberglass and carpet on his boat. Tomorrow we will have 3 boats at the house to work on. Thursday is coming up quick.

If you could put a handle onto 2 glass suction cups seems like they would work pretty good. Can't imagine them marking up the hull.

All I did was give my pump guy a big wad of cash. That's enough for me for today.

I'd like at least 2 if possible. 1 for sure if there is a limit.

I'd go with the recommended B1. I was told by a friend to take it there before I even heard about Chris on here. After having been to the shop and speaking with Chris personally I know that I made the right decision by taking mine there.

Trying to make this little float as shiny as the bow. Not so bad for a Monday.

Finished the bow. I have to do the rest of the boat for sure now. Yay. Can't help the existing cracks but it is pretty damn shiny and smooth.

Not looking too bad. Stage 1 of 4. 10 times better than it was, I'm cool with this.

Anybody have any compound in particular for buffing it out? I have used mostly mothers products for my vehicles but this is my first gel coat.

Dropped the pump off at B1. Wet sanded the bow. Cleaned up the transom mount and painted it.

I ended up sanding the whole bow. It needed it anyways. It's pretty damn smooth now. Going to hit it with the buffer tomorrow and see how it turns out.

I'm going to wrap the sandpaper around a sanding sponge, will that work as a flat enough surface so as to not leave finger marks?

Also, going to go at it with a "wax on, wax off" motion. I assume to not go in a straight line. Am I on the right track? I have 1000, 1500, and 2000.

Hey bud what color were you looking for???

Sent from my iPhone using SoCal Jet Boats

I was going to get a purple to match the boat but at this point I am not the least bit picky.

I would like to get away from the old points style distributor that I have now. It works fine as is but I would like to upgrade it. What do you guys recommend? My friend that helped tune the carbs told me to just get the conversion cap for it but if I can do even better by completely swapping then I may just do that. Engine is a mildly modified 461 olds.

You saw it on CL?

Bad luck and all, it's probably going to get a name change. But we'll see where it ends up once it is all back together.
