John do you know who makes that scoop you have? And do you know if they make one for a single carb set up? I really like the way that thing looks.

Speedway Motors makes them.  They can  be used with a single or double setup by just using both or one of the carb adapters.

Thanks very much.  I would expect I'll fire it in the next week or so.  Gonna be a while before it's wet as it's still pretty cold and gloomy up here.  Once in a while we have a nice day this time of year but not very often and NEVER when I have the time off from work.....

hahahahah!!!!  Been there done that.  I stood back to admire my handy work and ran my fingers thru my hair and about .5 seconds into it I realized what I did.  What a mess!!!!  Don't be afraid of that "fast" hardener.  It sets up faster but still leaves you time to work your magic.  You're doing a great job.........john

Thanks Tommy.  Yup, the DL is gonna work good.  Gotta get this impeller swapped and finish some last minute plumbing (pressure taps) and a 1000 other little misc. things and we'll be back to buffing and polishing.    Thanks again for all the help.

Glenn, there is no place better when the sun is out but damn, I wish it showed up more often.  Fired off the sprinkler system today and found that it had froze and broke (again) even though I winterized it.  So much for having it "professionally" installed.  Now there's one more thing in the way of my boating....

Now back on topic,  I picked up some used Borla upswepts SS headers that had been coated but needed some TLC.  Scotchbrited them, followed by wetsanding with 2000 grit and then some Mothers polish and they turned out pretty damn good iff'n I do say so myself!!!  (Please excuse the mess, it's been a bit of a thrash)






These are the big cans that quiet the idle way down (the noise cops are clamping down up here) but bark like a mutha when you stand on it.  The look is not for everybody but I think they are okay for the boat.  May need a chiller sooner rather than later if for no other reason than get the proportions correct. 

John are you camping there at the races?

Okay, last time I'm gonna post up a pic on this thread.  He can start his own but Glenn and Tommy, you can't believe what he's managed to do with this old girl.

He went back at it yesterday and color sanded it throughout with 2000 grit, and then buffed it out again with a number of different products and the thing looks like a million bucks.




Founds some more cool stuff yesterday too.  The bottom of the trailer has signed "UFO II" on it as well.  And all the wire is braided together and follows the angles with pefect 90 degree bends.  

Somebody spent a ton of time on this thing back in the day......... Thanks again guys and we'll do you proud I promise.


He's just about done with he truck and once done we're gonna roll that out and put the Sanger in the shop with my boat so it can enjoy some heat instead of setting in the cold ass RV port.

Though Barrys work is worthy of the dining room table as a center peice, I prefer it in a boat......

My son and I are really looking forward getting after that Sanger he picked up. He's been buffing and polishing and really has it looking good.

TJ you're killing me.  I'm doing the same thing right now so I can mount my regulator log but going to use all three bolts and was trying to think how I could countersink the allen head bolts.  Too damn cool!!!   

When are you going to move to Washington so you can make this stuff for me?

Haha, This is actually Ian posting on the old mans account since i have yet to make my own. The gel definatly is coming back. I have about 3 or 4 hours on the deck so far. Still gotta use some real polish. thats a heavy cut, final cut, and cleaner. It really does look way better though! It was nice to meet you the other day! Hopefully we can take the boats down south to go boating in the river with all you guys!

Pulled in last night after dropping off a bench seat for Skip in Salem and then some parts for Brittney from Tommy.  Kevin/Keith (can't remember what his name is) just left with the seats Tommy.  Very happy with the seats.

Ian's already touched a few spots with some compound and the colors are BADASS!!!!
