Boat Showcase / Re: Crazy Eights New Paint Job
« on: March 30, 2011, 10:56:24 PM »
Thanks.

Remember, this is strictly a race boat. I only spend 15-20 minutes in it at a time.

oh i thought you were going to use it as a recreational boat as well. regardless its a bad ass paintjob.

try photobucket.com     thats what i use....super simple. after you upload pics onto your photobucket album you just scroll over the photo and a dropdown box comes down below the pic with 4 different codes and then you click on IMG Code and copy and paste onto the scjb thread you are trying to post in.

and what do you guys think about me staying at the avi vs riverside? im debating between the two since they both have launch ramps.

personally if it were me i'd stay at the avi over the riverside. both launch ramps suck because they dump you directly into the current but avi is a much nicer hotel (IMO) and the avi has a nice sandy beach. and (IMO) the part of the river where the avi is is a much nicer part of the river than up by the casinos in laughlin. if you go upriver from the avi a couple miles on your right will be rio lomas beach, you cant miss it. bout 150 yards of nice sandy beach, and if you go downriver from the avi a couple miles on your left will be littered with sandy beaches. like i said "nice part of the river".

Trailers / Re: on trailer...chains vs. cables
« on: March 12, 2011, 04:27:36 PM »
ive been loking online and found some 36 inch coiled vinyl coated cable with clevis hooks. now i have 2 choices on either two 5000lb or two 7000lb cables. im thinking the two 5000lb'ers should be more than enough but what do you guys think? its for my '74 19foot hallett bubbledeck on a tandem axle trailer. dont know how much my setup weighs so just wondering what you guys think on which cables to purchase. thanks

Trailers / Re: on trailer...chains vs. cables
« on: March 12, 2011, 03:04:40 PM »
right on, thanks GT. gonna do this before summer hits. i like the loops welded to the trailer then threaded chain links idea. probably go that route. dont want to drill any holes if i dont have to. thanks

Trailers / Re: on trailer...chains vs. cables
« on: March 12, 2011, 02:22:37 PM »
thats what i want is the hooks with clasps and the cable with the rubber casing over it. so at least 3/8" cable. where would i be able to find this "DOT" rated cable at? and as far as attaching the trailer end on the cable with the loop how would i want to do that? i was thinking maybe some grade 8 stainless bolts through each side of the tongue to hold on the loop at the end of each of the cables?  i could be way off base. thanks

was wondering what you guys are using on your setups. going to change mine (chincey azz chain welded to tongue of trailer). i was thinking of changing to cables. what do you guys think? and what size of chain and what size of cables do you recommend. thanks
