I took my boat to the lake today 
And i put her in THE WATER
Went to Telephone cove first thing this morning , but the water is really low so we went over to Princess.

FIL made a special trip to be my tow boat ..... Just in case.
was sooooo peacefull out here. Just enjoyed being back on the water again

Years ago, i brought an engine to our machine shop and asked about the "pitted" cylinder walls.. I was told run it... And last time i checked it was still on the water running..
Was also told pitted walls is a common thing with marine use, i took that as un maintained use....

« on: August 02, 2009, 02:55:43 PM »Not sure if you know this Steve, the grease you need to use in that has to be rated for disc brakes, the temps get stupid hot, we normally use the high temp Moly Lube recommended for disc brakes...
The crap that you have in the pictures looks to me like general purpose axle grease...No workie....Turns into tar
Make sure the stuff you used is recommended for disc brakes.......

the disc brake grease that i was looking at has a drop point of 340* and the lucas was in excess of 540* so i think im good
I actually had the "disc brake labled" grease in my hand when i saw the Lucas and said f-it... Its Lucas , got to be good shiat

Well here it is, the wheel bearings said uncle..........
I had to scrape the grease off the spindle, it was like tar.. Must of really overheated at one time or was just really cheap grease
And before you ask me if i use a bungee cord to hold up the A arm...... Thats used to hold up the caliper so i don't stretch or break a line
Pass side bearings, these are the one's that made all the noise this am!!!!!
the one's on the left are the drivers side, they look fine... But if you do one side you better do the other
just got to put the wheel back on her and she's done..
Now she has all new bearings, wheel seals and new Lucas grease, Now it's time for a beer
Well, The FIL called and we made plans for next weekend to splash the 2savbean.......
All i got to say is im soooooooo fukin bummed this happened today, perfect day to launch the boat early for some testing. Now im sure there is a full beach at Telephone cove Fuk!!!!!!!!

Never made it..
We have been planning this for A WEEK
I left early today to go to work so i can get home by 6am and be at the lake by 7...........
Didn't happen, the damn truck took a shiat going to work......... and i just got it home on a tow truck.. We were really excited to get the boat out and get some video of it.
Something is telling me , i shouldn't own a boat
