ive stayed out of this until NOW, its all a matter of what system you want to run..............................
i ran both and had good luck with both.................................. hell even sunk the boat and the 6al box was under water and ran great the next day..................

I guess my point is, think the thought (or project) through. If theres a problem, I was taught by an old guy I worked for in High School (Way back when) part time repairing typewriters, copiers, and (Something foreign to those of you under 40) Adding machines, What caused the problem and always continue asking why until you solve it. Worn part?, part failure?, lack of maintenenace?, Abuse?, Misaplication?, or Design Flaw?

Beleive me, the last one was RARELY the problem.

LOL, true huh? Funny something that should be so simple causing all those problems for Brad and the guys.

I think Glenn mighta hit on something though. Those boxes, and usually their coils, cannot be engine mounted! the vibration will kill them.
I suppose you could get fancy and use rubber grommets under it when mounting it there, but vibration is still gonna be an issue, IMO. Those things are run on drag and street cars relentlessly with greater reliability than what I'm hearing here. Why is that? They're mounted on the firewall or fender. (Nascar boys mount theirs on what would be the passenger side dashboard inside the car). Using grommets under them where the screws go through to mount them is never a bad idea either! Use nylock nuts and loctite though.

Maybe that's the problem? I still think a mag for your application is probably best though Brad. Kinda hard to miss with that, and you're not out daycruising with it so heat buildup should not be an issue.

LOL yeah they do. Same thing here, saw 4 rear end accidents on the way home today. All of it driver error, although we have the added problem of nearly no rain for a couple years, the residual oil getting brought up to the surface. Makes it a bit sporty out there!
