Nice project Ralph. I can picture it low, skinnies in front, steamrollers in back 598ci Kaase Boss under the hood and 4 mufflers so it sounds like a 302 with a cam!

I haven't played with a Cheby since 96, been mostly doing blue ovals and all I've done is been rotor and pad replacements or 4wd conversion kits. Thanks for the refresher on drums! God I hate drum brakes!

« on: May 16, 2011, 10:50:44 AM »Also make sure the axle seals are not leaking axle fluid on the shoes. This will cause problems as well.This was my first thought too. I was also thinking bad prop. valve. Rare, but they do occasionally go bad. It is also possible someone could have put the wrong master on it since you say you bought it used. If they put 4 wheel disc master it could cause the same problem. But I think lbhsbz is probably right about the shoes being installed wrong or of improper manufacture (very common).

DO NOT bleed anything yet....there are a few special procedures on these trucks that will prevent headachesI'm anxiously waiting for your reply since I've been out of the brake business since 96. ASE certified brake tech in 92, but I switched lines of work in 96. I still do brakes on the side for friends, family, and co-workers so I want to know what I've missed since then (I assume you're refering to special procedures for the ABS system).

I have an Etrex Legend and love it. Got all my favorite spots for trail riding saved. I never got to use it in a boat. But I did test it driving my truck. I was shocked how far off the speedo was on my truck.

I thought about getting it and fabbing up the tubing and getting a carb inlet to hook it up to carbed BBC. But I'm a Ford guy when it comes to boats and I'm broke for another couple of months so thats the only reason I passed on it.

Posting for a co-worker, Used Procharger M1 Intercooled Supercharger kit. Appears to be kit for EFI BBC Mercruiser. Has all brackets and hoses. My buddy bought it for his boat used from Upland Marine when he bought his boat. He has carburated engine so he would have to modify kit to fit his engine so it has been sitting in his garage for 2 years in a crate. He is asking $750. Please contact Carter at 760-562-2062

I might be getting my hands on a Procharger M1 kit for Merc Chevy. A guy at work bought it for his boat but after he found out he would have to mod his engine cover (where his wife likes to lay out) he decided to not to install it. Its been sitting for a couple of years in crates in his garage and now his wife is nagging him to get rid of it. He's asking $750 for it because he wants it gone quick. I'm waiting for him to send me pics. Its supposed to be pretty complete with hoses, brackets, fuel pump etc. It is used, he bought it from Upland Marine when he bought his boat. I don't have a project for it so I figure I'd give you guys a chance at it. I will post it up when I get the pics.
