BTW I have run my past 2 boats there with over the transom headers, no baffles or water and never been hassled.

Bad ignition switch?

I was thinkin that too, I had one go bad and it would only stay running if I held it in the start position.

could be a few things but if its starting back up but then dying......im going to lean towards a fuel issue. If it were spark it probably would have died and probably not restarted (unless your coil is getting hot).

Thanks gt, I'm heading to a lake this weekend with shallow water for about 200 yards to the beach so I wanted to make sure I could idle all the way to the beach and not mess up my jet, water is just below my knees so I'm guessing 16+"

Remember though, GT said at speed...... if you aren't on plane, the boat will sit lower in the water, just keep that in mind.

Anyone running dry headers there?

When I had my Olds I was running over the transom bassetts,  they had water lines hooked up to them but I would run them dry because of reversion issues. I never got hassled for the noise and I'm assuming I passed inspection because they assumed I would be running water to them

I just picked up a tunnel ram and carbs from him on tues, he seemed alright, not defending them or anything, he just seemed like a nice guy. He offered me a bunch of AN fittings and what not for free for the carbs. Gave me a scoop too.

When Ive got 4 Adults in the boat, both tanks half full and fairly calm water, im screaming at about 4000 rpm but only doing about 35mph, does this seem about right? or should I have the wear ring and impeller checked out. I opened the hand hole and didn't find any obstructions.

If anyone else has a similar type boat, please hit me up, ive got some questions about performance, I realized its a much heavier boat than my past 2 boats, but this thing seems a little sluggish.
