Cars / Automobiles For Sale / 1972 CST K5 Blazer
« on: March 18, 2014, 07:25:17 AM »
Like I said I think the 70's two tone is the best lay out. There's a 80's suburban in riverside rolling around with it like the yellow and white one but it's pinstriped around the divider instead of the molding. But looking at the orange and white one. Well I guess I couldn't give you crap about that. But if your two toning like the red and white one and splitting it with a purple stripe.....well I'm already writing things down

I have tanks with flip tops, a berk pump with jg bowl and an "a" impeller. A manual place diverter, I also have  4pt mounts for bbc but technically there Glenn's so you'd have to work that out with him. Wouldn't be that hard to put it together.

Although great advice from beer jet, do you really wanna be that guy that sells a boat with a patch job that even you are afraid of coming apart. Not saying it will but you never know and you don't know what the buyer may do if it happens to him right after he buys it. One of the reasons when I was selling my boat I sent the link to my build thread so the interested party could see what was done to the bottom of my boat before buying.

Either way enjoy it while it still floats

Well to quote gt jets "even a turd floats" lol. Flipping the boat can be a bit nerve racking and flipping it right side up after the works done can be even more nerve racking. Been there done that got the t shirt.

Good luck and take your time. I think I enjoyed working on my boat more than I I did going to the river/lake.

As far as lights I bought all mine at the truck stop on North Indian ave. $24 bucks for a pack of 4 red led marker lights and 4 dollars for a single red one so you have enough (three in the center and one on each fender) another 24 bucks for a pack of 4 amber. Now with those I put two on the steps one is wired as a running light and one wired in as turn signal. And then 30 bucks for the regular oval led tail lights. Never took a picture after light install.

Those things are a blast, I had one for a while before trading it for a rc crawler. Try adding 1 1/2 pound to it using clay and placing it behind the motor to the transom on either side of the drive shaft. Really helps keep it planted when pinned.

There was a guy by the name of tjsnordic? I think that's how his name was spelled, any ways he had an efi blown big block in his Nordic bubble and there is a lot of work and fab pieces he made for it to work. But for him being a fab guy it was no problem, for any other person it would of been stupid expensive. As far as mechanical injection it's pricy as well and it's a whole other beast. Carbs are simple and have worked well over the years so why mess with something that works.

Kayotc around what time you going to look at it? If it's later on in the afternoon and you don't feel like dragging it all the way home I'm only a half hour away, you could drag it down here yank off what you wanted and leave whats left of the trailer and the hull.

where is the boat located?  if theres pinks for both (assuming "paperwork" means current slips not mystery documents from 8 owners previous... it wouldnt be the first time... no offense) id be willing to grab it.  will trailer tires make it home or should i bring my own.  i could bring a 110v welder and patch it together if theres enough to slap it together with.

Leave the welder at home. I have seen pictures of what you do. Remember its cheaper if the mobile welder doesn't have to cut off the hack welds........

You sir are correct. The bowl on the boat is a c bowl but I guess I should of specified that that picture was to illustrate the diverter. Here is a picture of the bowl that goes on the pump that has the impeller pictured above. I was getting ready to polish it but said screw it and now I may not have a boat for it to go on
