Thanks Nate! Still healing a header burn from that, but loved doing it! Any time my friend!

Kids had a GREAT time! Especially coming up at the bridge as you and John (Dozzer)  were going at it. RJ said, "nail it" and I did, Rivertard got a great pic of that full speed run I did under the bridge as well as the Roost I tossed infront of the beach. Didnt know he was there, lol.
Was told from the beach I nearly hit the bridge with the roost! That was encouraging.

Next time gonna bring out the Greenie, or "loogie" as I call it,  but a lil more "motivated" than it is now.

All in All, I think the Moo did very well there and held her own. Ran outa gas on one tank trying to run Rivertard, backed off on Skip for other reasons (jet ski), then OWNED Nordie, many times, I think she did OK. Could be better, we'll work on that. I think Skip and Mike both woulda had me anyway, but was fun trying!

Still a funny story, after towing it what, 1/4 mile? lol. Kids LOVE telling that story to their friends.

Actually, Nate, thinking JUST that for this Hallet of Brads sitting in my side yard!

Tom and I been chattering about it for quite a bit now, but he and I think it's time we see a real kick ass MOPAR in the ranks. He's building two as we speak.

We'll see, I'm thinking NOT 440 or 383, sumpin a bit different, will keep you posted. Gonna be a next summer project, but I think I got things lined up as far as parts go. Gonna be Speshul!

Ray

Anyoine got any idea what my 20' Sleek is? other than a Bubbledeck SST  V-Bottom?

The No Wake Zone / Re: What kind of things lost out your boat
« on: October 22, 2009, 05:44:42 PM »
Since being on the water, from March this year, i've lost 4 cell phones, 1 digi camera, my Ohio State championship T-Shirt (Beerjet was there for that), 4 contact lenses, 2 sets of truck keys, 2 pairs of Oakleys, and one 21' Biesemeyer boat. I'm sure theres more, but nothing as elaborate as loosing a scoop, etc.

AND I STILL DO THIS EVERY CHANCE I GET!  :banghead:

2Sav might have the right idea, I'm just on the wrong side here.

Least your off to a good start...chevy power!!!! :o
Ray can be taught!  :D

LOL! Was an accident, and actually, one of the final selling points to me on the thing. Worked on the guy for what? 3 weeks or so? I have a complete Chebbie blower setup (Among others), and pistons for it, so watch for it this spring! (this Green Monster, as it seems to be known now, is gonna take on some personality, as the Moo has).

I now have 2 Ferds and 2 Chebbies, in varying process, should, could, get interesting.

Wonderful how a plan falls together! Still not a chop loving boat, takes rough better than Moo, but takes steering to do it and with the current cables, impossible.

Ray

Oh, and that WAS a ford towing your ass in Nate! lol. (what a funny story!!) As if I havent been towed in my by share of chebbies, lol.

Projects / Re: BROKEN BOLT ON INTAKE
« on: October 22, 2009, 04:31:31 PM »
Soak it down pretty good with PB Blaster. Leave it sit a couple nites with the stuff. Tapping on the bolt can help it get in there good. heat wouldn't hurt (On the bolt), but be careful. Then, yeah, listen to Tony, grind it down flat, Not flush with the intake, centerpunch and drill it, use a GOOD extractor, should come out fine. if it doesn't, weld a nut to it and try it all over again.

Just the way I would do it. I'm from the east coast, so EVERY bolt did this back there, lol.

Probably why I still put never seize on bolts and studs like this, and loc tite on others.

Real Estate For Sale / Re: Ca. R/E Market
« on: October 21, 2009, 10:42:38 PM »
Well, hate to be the positive guy here, but I see things a little differently.

With the interest rates down, foreclosure homes selling at a 90% rate at auction, people are buying and flipping them, at least here in PHX, at a record rate.

In all honesty, these "fixed back up" homes are now selling for realistic value prices. The OVER inflation, and people refinancing or second mortgages, was what was crazy. That is driving the economy right now.

As far as the Financial lenders that went under? GOOD! All of those were nothing more than Loan Sharks to begin with. (I am italian)

My guage is retail. Retail is bouncing back. As people buy these homes, AND have more money to afford a decent lifestyle, spending is up. Feel bad for the people that played to game too long, or just got in at the wrong time, but it is what it is. We'll see if retail holds up.

Homes are NOW selling for what they are REALLY worth, maybe. If more than a few rich cats lost their ass, I am not unhappy about that. I AM unhappy about the innocent people suckered into buying well over what they could afford, at over inflated prices, but that's another matter, and another nail in the coffin of these 350 lenders! My Wife and I were approved for $550k (NO WAY we could afford that!) when we started looking 3 years ago or so.  We bought my place at a 'tad' under 200k.

I'm still ok, by a longshot! Not upside down at all, but many around me are. I'm not gonna get into my viewpoints as to how this happened, but I think we all saw the "infomercials" in the day a few years ago.

I'll leave it at this. I have one contractor that is buying, fixing up and flipping homes at the rate of 5 to 8 per week! The buyers are STILL getting a deal (One I know personally got a home from him that 4 years ago appraised at 350k for 125k) Both made money. House IMO worth MAYBE 200k. Small time Conractor making his own fortune from the situation. Here's what is happening. People losing their homes these last couple years are taking everything! Cabinets, sinks, electrical panels, switches and wallplates, A/C units, even the wiring and plumbing itself, all of which needs replacing. Where we come in.

The current 'recession', IMO, driven by the stupidly rich in the real estate game getting far too greedy.

As long as this one doesnt turn into charcoal, hell be fine!  ;)

You mean as long as I keep my brother away from it!  >:D  So far he hasn't been allowed to look at it,   ;)

Ray

Thats a Roger Finney splash guard, so  kinda doubt its original, though obviously done by the Original owner.

Dunno about the 2 keys. Ones not, nor has ever been, according to PO, hooked up. Been suggested maybe for the electric fuel pump.

That you did Tom! Forget who brought up the Iguana thing, lol.

Thanks Nordie!

I do have an older place diverter with the reverse "tube" on it if I can get a handle and cable cheap. Maybe on the Sag, really want a new one for this though. Gonna be on my list to Tom along with new steering cable and F/R cable. Both are SHOT! Like steering a bulldozer out there.

Got a guy coming to look at the gouges on the deck to see what can be done to fix that and match the gel (Probably impossible, but at least get close, not gonna paint the whole thing and ruin the original gel).

Next is the carpet and new motivation for the thing. 6-71, and I'm unsure if I'm keeping the logs/trumpets or going zoomies on it.

Ray

Oh, and Tom, if you need anything for that 440 Mopar project, I have a stash of old mopar parts at my parents place back east. Dunno whats there really anymore, but I can occupy the old man looking,

Unc had it all last weekend, why i couldn't take it to Avi, and had a blast in it while Aunt and her neices waterskiied behind it all weekend (Just coming off knee surgery mind you, and been 15 years since shes done that).

Anyway, Unc and Aunt wanna come with us and she ski's all morning. Coming out of about a mile long no wake zone (At the back is a beach where we had lunch), stopped and she wanted to ski back around the back half before we get to shipwreck rock.

As I tighten up the rope to her, 2 HUGE wakebarges come out of the no wake zone with their hair on fire, within 20 feet of me on either side, and proceed to swamp the back half of the boat with their good 3 footers. Waited that out, No problem, turn on the bilge pumps, and we pull her up. As I get her up and drop the rpm down to 3500, two MORE barges come from the other way and nail me AGAIN!

At this point, Aunt dropped the rope, and as I turned the boat, Unc says, "We're sinking" .

No Crap! he was well over his ankles in water, it was no more than an inch below the top of the bellhousing! Bilge pumps no werkie!

Pick up aunt, BLAST it to the beach (Not a new experience), while the guys were bailing, I took one of the pumps and tore off the wires and held them on the battery, lol.

Went back, dropped Aunt and Unc off, then went back out for the rest of the day. Boat runs good, pumps working now, just wish I had the diverter on it already so when I see those pricks that initially swamped me I can make my introduction, lol.

Its coming, I noted the Reg numbers!

As I get another project underway, some things lined up for the Moo, I go and pick up another one!  :banghead:

Some of you may have seen the postings of this on another site, so its Pete and Re-Pete.

Until I can find out otherwise, it appears to be a 76 Sleekcraft SST V-Bottom. I know, Bubble deck, but haven't seen any V-Bottom SSTs before either, so by the HIN I'm just calling it as I se it for now. Maybe someone here knows? :screwy:

Either way, not a bad ride. ;D

Welcome back  ;D maybe now you can that a punch better then you give one ;)  scene you put it out there I got a lot of phone calls from members speaking for you WTF and PMs telling me I was in the wrong from your one sided story or what ever you said I was never one for talking and maybe this time I've should of, RAY your a grown ass man you should of talk to me instead of coming at me with your verbal remarks calling me names like some kinds do  but you failed to tell the board members here that  I had a lot of my so called friends turn on me cause you didn't tell the hole story from the first post regarding the carbs on your boat REMEMBER.  :banghead:

Boost, OK, I get it. we had a VERY bad misunderstanding. or 2. I NEVER threw you under the bus! I made it VERY clear I made my decision based on perception.  Everyone knows that, and that is all I told them.

Had nothing to do with my friends, anyone on this site, or anyone else. I rememeber you helping me out, and it wasn't just the carbs, it was much more than that! You were helping me out from day one last december. I do NOT forget! Scroll through all the posts. You remember when I first showed up? You posted one thing now , then edited it for this pissing contest, so apparently there's some harbored feelings. I ain't playing. Walk a mile in my shoes Boost! I DO with everyone I meet, every, single, focking day! (Ask Luckystiff)

Anyway, please, lets just leave it alone and go on from here. I'm more than  man enough to take it and say I'm wrong, and was wrong, and was a complete ass to you,  and lets move on from here. This site doesn't need this. And THIS is what I was trying to avoid for it. Why I did what I did. can't we grow? I'm done, maybe I should NOT have tried this. (Thanks Brad).

Ray

PS I do NOT take well to personal attacks. If you feel you know me, think again before you do so!
