Not familiar with the Mallory SprintMag's, nor the Hunt. The ones I have are all 3 Vertex. I assumed they were all built with rare earth magnets (Hence Magneto, sounds like false advertising if they used substandard materials in some), and yeah, Omar, a little cleaning up might be in order, but a rebuild? Not necessary unless it isn't working at all or is erratic.

Terry would be the one to ask about the Mallory I think he's running one, or Crewcheif, he's built and run many a sprint car running them.. As far as the Hunt, you heard it from the horses mouth Omar.

I agree with Marc. Having seen the boat and walked the floor myself, it isn't bad at all, really. Run the thing.

On the other hand, theres not a very big floor in it, sooo either way wouldn't be a big deal. Time consuming, that's for sure.

None of mine ever even required an inpection. Just went there with the bill of sale or the old reg, transfered it over, 35 bucks later, I got regs and stickers. Arizona also does NOT title watercraft. 2 of my boats are from Cali and I still have the Cali titles for them JIC.

Still have the Cali stickers on the Moo, need to order or have Brad make some cool AZ ones like the Moo has now, not putting Mailbox letters on it.

The Pump Gas part is what has me saying not a chance, really, Stuart.

I'm running right on, or over, the borderline of too much compression, 11:1 or so, (For the oxygenated crap we call premium gasoline here in Arizona), and jury's still out if the engine will hold up to it over the long haul. Runs fine on (And LOVES) 103 octane or better Avgas or Race Fuel, but scares me a little running 91 octane pump gas. Boat won't idle half the time, can notice SOME pinging from time to time, so I try and buy my gas at one place where 93 octane is their premium in town.

I'm probably at, or over, 550 (I say 600, by seat of the pants and given it's acceleration) on Race Gas. On pump gas I'm quite sure I lose better than 50 HP or probably even significantly more. (Given recent carb issues and not running a filter has caused some greif lately). But on Race Gas, will idle (granted a pretty significant lope), at 800 rpm with the lope dragging it to 1100. Sounds badass when it does this in the NWZ. Kinda cool seeing the faces of new passengers seeing the tach bouncing like that too!

If you want 800 HP, blown is the only way you're gonna do it on pump gas, I beleive.

FWIW, I'd never build an engine this close to borderline again for a boat. Hence the Blower in my kitchen and the other in the garage (And a third to be announced later). I thought I could outsmart the sytem, for lack of a better term, with my hot rodding background, But no, Boats are different, and race/AV gas is not that accessible! I am lucky in that the boat runs at around 140 degrees all day, any more, it would probably detonate like a grenade. Paul, Lakesonly, and Dave, enginedoctor, are EXACTLY right, if you want a reliable turn key engine, listen to both of them.

I just remember working repairing office equipment after High School and during college years ago and doing service calls at the offices of places like Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, in Stubenville, Oh and Monessen Pa where 1 of 6 blast furnaces were running, part time at that, and a skeleton crew of maybe 200 workers when there used to be nearly 3000. Kinda sad.

Then get a call to the Union HQ and the head of the local USW union pulls up in a new Porsche 928!

Anyone else see the irony in that? Bad taste in my mouth for unions when you see what they did to the steel industry and have now done to the car industry in America.

BTW I agree with drug testing to get your welfare checks. Problem is, since it's a government run program, gonna cost us MORE tax dollars because then they're gonna hafta create another department, across the country, and the medical industry will see the dollar signs and over charge for said tests..........Whats right is right, but we'll still take it up the a$$ if they ever do it.
