Top paint is a little scruffy. Wasn't sure about overall build and hull design.
I'll try to post a pic of it.

It's a 18' with a Berkely.  Are they good boats? Better than my 1973 Kona? Pluses and minuses?
I can get into this one for $750 in good shape xcept for a bad motor.
Thanx

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: olds E-85, blower build up?
« on: September 26, 2007, 07:04:40 AM »
Wow . Thanx for the response!
Heads...probly rework the stockers.. not sure yet $ wise.

E-85...This stuff rocks!!!  1   It's only $2.30 a gallon out here.
2   Even factoring using 20% more it's STILL cheaper than race gas.
3   With a supercharged application it dramatically cools the intake charge!
4   This makes more pwr without preingnition, detenation problems
5   Less maint. compared to methinal

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / olds E-85, blower build up?
« on: September 25, 2007, 08:09:23 AM »
It will be a month or so before I start this project.
Is ANYONE interested in following this? I will go through the process of converting 2 holleys from
gas to run on E-85 fuel. This'll be a bare bones low $ ,yet well put together mill. I'll learn some
new stuff too. I'll have ta figure out the digital camera stuff first.  :)

Downer!!! I had spaced the $ I owe ya. >:( It went out 2nd day yesterday.
What bore size is it? Stock rod length? Part # ....I'll check through some extras for you.
If I have one that will work...it's yours. With the xeption of one motor i've always raced BBC.

Forgot to mention....and the clearances we'll be running in the motor.
Went 7.24 @ 189mph 2 weeks ago in Wyoming in the front engine digger I tune. 8-71 blown little block Chevy on Alky. :o  thats only at 6% over on the blower. :o  We are gonna lean on it Sun.

JBP Your imput here is great!!! I'll talk to ya this winter about pump direction. We are all done here in Colorado! He stopped by when I was "short blocking" took a look at it... said this wont do and left.
He latter said he modified the internals, clearanced it, did some anti-cavitation stuff, shimmed the spring and something else. My block has all the oil mods. He set it up this way in preperation for a mild 6-71 dual 850s run on E-85 set-up that I'll be running next year. Opps ...and oil drain back tubes in the heads or valve covers. Thanx for the questions. ;)

Ha!!! Something on this board I'm good at!!! ;D
If yer not mechanicly inclined ...ask yer Uncle what the compression is . Low is good. What type/size of blower. Big is good in my book!!! Less overdrive = less heat in the intake. Yet ya still move air.
4 lbs of boost will wake it up!!! Back the timing up. it'll be happy. Snow boost coolers with straight
methinol in the tank if ya lean on it. REALLY cools the temps without spending a fortune!!
Bottom line....keep it fun and in the water!!! O0

Thanx for letting me bend your ear. ::)
Yep Glasscutter I agree that 100lbs is too much. We were shooting for 80lbs.
It's all in how the tolerances are put together.   Pressure without flow is bad...no cooling.
Flow without pressure=bad things. :(    I trust my buddy!!  I could run down his list of racing accomplishments, but let's say he's been inducted into the same "lifetime acheiment" Hall of Fames"
as Dontov, Ed Iskedarien, Harvey Crane,Joe Mondello Etc. He enjoys teaching a lowly knuckle dragger like myself or anyone else for that matter.

If anyone remembers/cares I did a quikie bearing job and got it back in the water.  ;D
My buddy reworked my oil pump. He is THE shit!!!! I have 100lbs of pressure at 5000.
It was a try out before I stick the blower on it. The  #*&^%^$#  FRAM  POS fitlers.
I'd like ta punch that  bone smoker right in the mouth!!!
I blu out 2 filters at idle. 60 psi cold . I took the filter mount off and machined a reciver groove in it.
Put new filter on fired it ...ok.....off the the lake....puked 3 qts... Went into town bought a modil 1
no problems......I'm happy again!!! ;D

V-4 2 stroke!!! Sounded like a swarm of bumble brees on speed! ;D
I've owned a couple RD 400's FUN.
Lookin' for a H1 or H2 Kawi triple motor for a project I sometimes work on.

Damn I know I shouldn't..... BUT I will ! >:D  Start to assemble the short block,This is a quickie bearing patch cause there is only 2 weeks of boating left in Colorado.
I look at the piston before I send it home and the  &^$$@# ring is broke!!!!
I hate doing things this way!! BUT 2 weeks left!!!   I make a few phone calls to find 1 top ring.
I'll keep everyone up to date on this adventure.

p s  After a few more times in the water the motor is coming back out a done properly.
It's gettin a 6-71 mainly for bling and to get the perf up to sea level type power.
Anyone have an Olds blower intake? I really don't have time to make one.
