I really need to stop shopping. I'm like a woman buying shoes I swear, but a sweet deal netted this brand new beauty.

Now to figure out where and on what, I'm gonna put it? (I put some of the Stealth project parts on it just to see it, getting axious!)

Carry around a bag of tools and spare parts. Then you'll never need them.

Don't carry anything and for sure something will break!

Did that. And not to blow up your theory, but I also have a bunch of parts and many tools at the bottom of Saguaro Lake as well,  ;D.

Yeah I do, actually. Leftover from "Things we lost in the Fire".  should work fine on a 22' I would think. Bunks will prolly need to be reset though, was on a Biesemeyer.

Hadn't really thought of selling it, was gonna put it under the Saguaro and then lose (Or make a utility trailer out of) it's single axle.

But hey, if it's needed...

Bearing buddies, surge brakes (Dunno if they work or not), I towed with a 1 ton so I wouldn't notice it anyway, will need a good wiring job, only the tailights are hooked up, none of the marker lights are. meant to get to that, lol.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Olds Experts - Please Inform Me
« on: July 28, 2009, 10:25:04 PM »
Listen to what Glenn's sayin'. He's right, but basically, the "problem" with all older BOP (Buick/Olds/Pontiac) engines is not necessarily a "problem" with the oiling system, it's more to do with drainback, cavitation of the oil pump and foaming around the pickup tube.

The oiling system, really, is fine as it is. Drainback is the primary issue. Limiting top end oil is one way to cure it, kinda, I don't agree with it, personally, but to each his own. Controlling and aiding drainback and adding a better pump pickup/pan combo, I beleive, is the better method on these engines, IMO.

Part of the reason they run so long (in miles) is because of the top end oiling engineering. Why mess with that?

But we're way ahead of ourselves, and you're building a mild cruiser so leave it as it is! IMHO. Bear in mind these 'gremlins' only rear their ugly head under long, sustained High RPM usage on these engines.  Keep it under 5000 rpm, it'll live and run forever! Honestly, when I used to get asked about Poncho engines and where to get the most bang for the buck? Windage tray.  Did a world of difference in those engines, from a durability standpoint. Second was deburring the lifter valley. You're gonna be fine with what you got!

But what do I know? I'm an old hot rodder! Boats is sumpin kinda new to me!

I bought it, she owns it, I work on it, she drives it....

Sounds about half/half to me  ;D

Yuuuuuuppppp! Were Cin still alive, would be "almost" the same damn thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFLMAOPMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More like "He bought it, I ALLOWED IT, He built it, I heard it, He had his ass handed to him, and I sold it"  Sounds like 50/50 as well, lol.

(Were it not for the fact that the very INSTANT I fired the Moo the first time in the garage, Cin woulda turned around, and before I coulda got the keys outta the ignition, it woulda been on Craig's List or E-bay, lol.)

Good call Crew ! The Jet O Vator , is a decent piece when all there and working right , I like to compare it (the JetO vator) to a Place diverter with the annalogy of a Muzzle loader to and AR 15 The both shoot just one is a smidge more modern and efficiant  Tom

Wow!!! Lol, That analogy's gotta make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside......................

LMAO!!!!!

Apparently not our (at least my) kinda jet boat, lol.

If you can hear chit clearly on a stereo, anywhere, near one of my boats while cruising, then either I am not doing sumpin right, you've got more RMS power than god, or I am simply deaf!  :sly:

Not that the latter is out of the question, mind you! At idle maybe, but beyond that.........ask Nordie!

Well, to toss a Berk in, yeah, MAJOR work. Tom will chime in I'm sure, as he's done it prolly a couple hundred times. Don't think you wanna do that. Ain't cheap and not something a novice (as I am) DIY'er normally would attempt.

Personally, I would leave it a Jacuzzi and call it good. PM Chromey and see if he still has the pump.

As far as the 460, well, Dammit! Why do I ALWAYS find all the good chit and deals only to give them all away? :screwy:

Anyway, I just happen to have bought a running one (Fully marine Hardin 460) about as complete as complete gets, trust me, for a future project. (GT, you have seen the pics, as has OC2).

I kinda, well no kinda about it really, threw it into Glenn's lap for now, (boy is HE happy!) as it's closest to him, so, maybe something can be worked out here on this engine. (All I want, beyond negotiated price, is all the leftover stuff that can help me replace the thing later and a few unique parts from the engine I know are on there! The parts I speak of I have standard replacements for.)

Glenn, you in on this? Lord this better not be like the LAST guy I felt sorry for and never heard from again (Maybe Elwood has though). I better not be getting screwed on this deal! Had enough of that, lol!

Ray

PS, Better get pics of the boat up. Trust me, these guys are relentless on that!

Your next step should be the Riverside County Court, IMO. I'm in AZ, so Cali is a totally different realm than I'm used to, but here, civil suit filing fee's are like $35 depending on county, and generally that alone, once the defendant(s) are served, solves the issue. No lawyers involved. (Well, theirs maybe).

Cali I don't know. The "Screwinator" has no doubt even influxed the debacle you call an economy by making sure that the "Golden" State's highest percentage percapita (of ANYWHERE) lawyers get theirs. Again, just my observation.

Another solution might be, kinda bold but, I know here a couple TV stations get OFF on going after businesses like this with an investigative reporter and chit (they keep a running total on what they reclaim for people, even put a few people in prison and more than that out of business). Might be worth a couple phone calls, and the publicity, or threat therof, might garner results.

Gawd I'm glad I'm such nice guy! I feel like I'm pennies from heaven for this kinda thing, but just deal with it on my own when it happens to me, lol. No wonder I may have an Ulcer!

Your roller rockers look a lot like the Proform kit I got from Summit for a BBC that was popping the ends off of my push rods.  Make sure the push rod fits properly in the rocker (not to tight).

Don't ask how he knows that!  >:D  (That's a story unto itself, well the whole weekend was, reflects on my problems too!!!!)

Ray

The comment is more derogatory about ME and MY boat than his boat, trust me!
