I have a job. Already posted I think.

What's Arnie's Problem? Jack up the taxes on all these way overpaid enterainers (Actors, acresses, rock stars, etc and all their brethren, producers, directors, et al. ) They can afford it! Problem solved!

Kinda jaded towards Hollywood since a lil skank I used to work with is now on "Big Brother". LORD what a lying tramp! And I won't watch, (I'd strangle the "kung-fu" bitch!!)

But you guys shouldn't have to make up for what they don't pay! That just ain't right!

Well, since you're like 3500 miles away or something, I was gonna suggest you bring a basic drum kit to Blythe in August, but that's a bit far, lol.

I think Terry's coming, I'm gonna bring the 12 string, maybe another acoustic or 2, Enginedoctor may just show up, lol should be better than the karoake at the Bar during Brad and Jen's Bachelor/Bachelorette party!

Verdicts out on whether Mike (Rivertard) is gonna go or not, or Omar (Beerjet). Nordie can dress up his ass, let's see if he can sing out of it........

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Why is my 460 eating starters
« on: July 17, 2009, 10:24:10 AM »
Yeah, no shimming a Ford starter. But a nose cone breaking or cracking means the bendix gear is riding up on top of the ring gear. The ONLY way that can happen, unless something else got caught up in it. (In which case, you have maybe another issue, loose parts rolling around in the bellhousing, like a bolt that came out of the crank, or something.) Is a worn flexplate gear or bendix.

If you're flexplate has any wear to it to the point where you can feel a 'lip' halfway or even partway back on any teeth, it needs to go away and be replaced. I read broken nose cone, and I would replace it anyway, regardless, as well as (obviously) the starter.

Again, just my input, but I've seen this before on street engines and it's ALWAYS one of these things.

I just talked to the guy Steve, he's sending me more pics, it's a '74. Sooooo you may get "voluntold" (Lack of a better term)to go look at it and store it til I fugure out how to get it here! Don't ask me why, but I like the thing! (That Beezer just would NOT work for what I'm doing on the other deal, although I'm shocked the guy got almost no responses on it).

Ray

Thanks Bro!

Yeah RIGHT! Looked at a buggie a couple weeks ago at a place that builds them, where I was buying Blower Pistons from. Yeah, they had one in there, 5 seater, 8-71 Blown LS7 (new one, small block), tiptronic transaxle (Push button up/down), more shocks than I've seen on a vehicle in my life, yeah $160,000!

Don't think THAT is in my budget! I got enough outflow on these water crawlers.

Now an old 1600 VW engine in a tube chassis? Yeah I can do that! But apparently not the way it's done these days, lol.

That's Nick's neighbors boat. Prolly wouldn't take much to get it wet, really. Good luck with it! It's a steal at the price, I'd like it too, but got more than enough going on, and it's GROWING from that anyway!, lol

The No Wake Zone / Re: can you run 1050 carb on 4150 style intake?
« on: July 17, 2009, 08:24:50 AM »
So what I'm getting from this extended exercize is that switching the intake to a 4500 Dom intake when using a dom carb instead of the adaptor on a 4150 style intake MAY be worth 14 or so HP? (Less on the scale Tom posted, only 6 HP).

I dunno much about technicals on boats, but I do know cars and a 10HP change can only be felt by the best of them. I would imagine even 14-20 HP increase would be hard to notice except on the extreme ends.

So therein lies the quagmire, why do they sell Dominator intakes at all? lol (Seems lke a waste of time and money to do so from a manufacturers standpoint).
