Boat Showcase / Re: Hello everyone, newbie to boats

Pics?!? We LIKE Pics! The nastier the better! (Well not really, well...sometimes!) Could it be another 18' Sleek in the group? If they were all painted by Old McDonald, we'd have as many of those as there are brown and Beige Carribeans on here!

Oh And welcome. We wanna see it tho!

Dunno if I'd run my boat in salt water myself though. Friend of a friend offered free time on Firebird Lake here in Chandler and I passed.

I think we're all kinda wondering! (You tossed it out there!) If you wanna do it this Friday or Saturday, I think we have enough help lined up! Forkie wants to come, Terry said he'd come down, (Can prolly shame Josh into it as well) And I'm more than willing to drive up there for this event! Terry, Forkie and I can get a Motel room and then all be there as backup in case it goes bad, which I doubt will.

Are you in or not?  >:D

C'mon Steve! (Also PM your phone and new addie, lost the phone # in my latest wet phone ordeal and you have a new addie).

« on: July 15, 2009, 09:37:24 PM »
The Place Diverter is where you wanna go. More roost, better control, And easy to install (And to some of these guys advantage, not mine, they can make it even bigger!)

Knocking guys off wetbikes (Only did it once......officially.... is FUN!)

No Ray, you cant sell my Sanger!  :D

Dammit! How'd you know I saw this?

How do you feel about a pretty fugly Hallett that is DAMN solid and needs damn near everything short a steering wheel? Or a Saguaro that's not so Fugly and has a Berk JC and most of the parts you need to install a 460? (No interior). Got a 21' Beisemeyer with a cracked hull? 12 JG in that bugger (Might actually have that one sold before I have even really looked at it,). the other one I'm keeping and building! (Still wanna keep all of them, but if this guys in need of some torment, who am I to deny him?)

Lol Thinning the herd maybe? Hate to sell any of them, but now I got even more going on than I knew about, or so I'm told!

No, the Moo will not be sold while I'm alive! ..............Wait...............that might not be the BEST way to put that.........

Ray

Let me know what you're looking for. I have a knack for finding obscure stuff, as do most of us on here!

THAT is one of the most Unique things I have ever seen! (No guys, I ain't buying that one, a little steeper than my pay grade allows, FORTUNATELY!)

Although............anything named Cougar should be well into Nordie territory, no? (Given what I heard). ;D

Ummm Just to restate what you said, the Nose cone (That holds the bendix and attached starter gear in the starter) was cracked/broken?

Dude, you've got a severely worn ring gear or the starter needs to be shimmed properly to work with your setup.

Just my .02

Lake Havasu / Re: Any body seen the accident yesterday july 11th
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:05:30 PM »
Lol, Yeah still love ya Skip! You bring up good points, but I'm not a TOTAL idiot.

When's the first time you drove a car on public highways Skip?

First, you only have to be 12 to operate a boat in Az. (And I'm all for startin' him young!)

Second, my brother was on board with him, as was an even more responsible person I view as a brother, Sergio.  RJ's had some wheel time with me with him before all this. He can handle his own with the boat, I'm confident! (I was driving cars, backhoes, bulldozers, even a 15 ton dump truck! when I was 14, but that's a back east thing).

Third, The danger was presented by the OTHER boat, not my son. The danger on MY part could have been my son being involved in something catastrophic (Nothing really new to me to those of you that know me, but still unthinkable). And that was my point. And why I was pissed when I happened up on all this!

Fourth, yeah, a dangerous move to risk swamping yourself. But given the alternatives, the lesser of evils, far less violent, and everyone can get out if it goes badly. Mostly the boats ass will rise when doing this (This was on a cruiser, not on something like the Moo!) Big trick is to turn hard THEN do it on a jet boat (It will basically spin out and stop with the bow pointed towards your own wake if done right). He knows this and did just that, or so I'm told.

But Skips points are well taken and received. I guess I shoulda been more clear. But Terry will vouch for RJ's abilities and why we're going to teach him to drive the new 'Stealth" project. (gonna be HIS boat). Neither of us doubts his abilities or "fears" of him irritating another boater.

I'm not for licensing, don't get me wrong here. Obviously, according to the other posts on this matter, alcohol and "chasing poontang" had more to do with this incident than the fact that it happened on the water. Coulda happened anywhere, even on the freeway, given those ingredients.

That's funny! (10 times louder in the 'rage!)

OK, Glenn usually nails these things right away. But I'll play the blind squirrel for a minute.

First, Aux Solenoid? could be that.

Second, Ignition switch (You'd be surprised! My late Bezzer had that happen with MANY non-beleiving witnesses that that could be the problem).

Third, Battery. (Had that be an issue recently with a fairly NEW battery too!).

Just a few ideas, but I'd be looking at #2 seriously. A $12 switch to try and might fix it.

I use a Blackberry, myself. Gives me Wifi when I need it, texting is simple, but the main reason is I love the automatic upload/download to my home computers of all my phone numbers, addresses, contacts and any data in the phone as soon as i get home! ( A feature i did NOT turn on and use on my last one, turned this new one on a few minutes ago.......... ;D)

So yeah, Lost a lot of you guys numbers. If you wanna PM them back to me, that'd be cool. If you don't, I understand........... :'(

I'm a Retail manager, so I don;t get many weekends off either. When I do I try and squeeze in as much boat time as I can. I also do a lot SOLO on weekdays.
