This has inspired a totally different approach to an ongoing, stealth project, (That will be featured here within a VERY short time frame) I know I've hinted at it, so has Terry, but the cat's gonna stay in the bag for now. Just thought I'd give a detailed sneak peak at what you guys already knew I bought

I didn't realize just how big this Crower system was, but heres some detailed pics of the old Mechanical Fuel injection system I bought. This is the same system that was used in the early 70's through 80's on Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars, and I'm putting it on a lil boat!!!

This is also the later unit that, until Enderle brought out the Buzzard Catcher, out flowed everything else out there. No I'm not running Nitro in it.......well, wait a minute..............





Yes, the thing has been ported out a bit as well!

All the Gasoline and Alky nozzles and orifices present and accounted for!



Even the original instrucion manuals (Though this is gonna be a weird deal no matter what, so dun know how much help these will be).

But I ain't got one. I have this one, the one I ran on the Moo actually at Temple Bar, and will work fine, though not period correct. Gonna get some drilled holes welded up on it, media blasted and polished and use it anyway for now, unless/until I find the correct one for it. It fits perfectly!







What do you guys think? Going over a blower, you already knew that (Dunno which, but prolly a 8-71, maybe a 6-71)

Oops, what I should have said was, its a terrible place to take a boat and we all decided to NEVER go back !!  Its full of mosquitoes and man eating fish.  Not to mention the water kinda burns your skin and dissolves fiberglass. 

Is it a water treatment facility?

Pics are needed, but I hope you're not describing that all the exit water is routed to the headers! (I have pics of the results of someone who did that on a brand new 460 I'm rebuilding right now.)

Here's my position on it as I read and understand this (Like anyone cares, but here goes). But then, I'm a hardliner on quality work. (Not that I always do such myself, but I am solely accountable for my own mistakes).

The hull of the boat is paramount, kinda like the uni-body construction of a car. If I'da paid someone, or any of us had, to reupholster my car and they cut up parts of the floor and substructure of the vehicle, or drilled holes and ran bolts/screws threatening the integrity of the vehicle well outside the scope of the intended work, I'd be looking for more than just a simple fix. Now you have down time too, and honestly, Tony, you've been unknowingly running an unsafe boat for weeks now.

One of those screws could have caused a major crack or worse at speed. Not likely, but possible. This from a reputable shop?

I understand mistakes happen, they happen every day in my business, and I've even done quite a few on my own boats  .

I can't tell you how many free appliances, tile jobs, carpet jobs or door installs we have eaten because of these mistakes and my propensity to make the customer happy. It may or may not be an everyday occurrance justifying trash talking the shop. Could just be a newbie or trainee mistake. My point is, you should, and deserve to be compensated for it, and they have now screwed up (Pardon the pun) an otherwise cherry hull! Whether they fix it or not, there should still be something off your original bill IMHO.

Funny thing about batteries, mine took a dump too at Big River (Only 6 months old too), just bought an Optima for it, but gotta figure out where in the hell I'm gonna mount it! (Maybe my plywood engine cover that has YET to be upholstered, keep adding crap to it!)

Welcome Silver. And yeah! Nice boat, set back pump and all! I'm envious. If its a Blown Ford, you're VERY lucky, not many of them around or on here! If blown up, well, we have some of the best 460 guys around to help you out! If you need parts, there's plenty of those around here as well. (Only because there's a lot more of us running Fords than Chevy's, statistically, so stop it Steve and Keith!  ).

Forgive our children, they misbehave sometimes  . They're really good guys like the rest of us, willing to help out! I like both of 'em but then I own both Ferds and Chebbies now, sooooo................
