Funny you should mention that, we typically do with our RV but some boating friends of ours had a house fire (DaytonaTunnel on PB & 68Droptop on HB) and we loaned it to them so they'd have someplace to live so we're not a setup as usual.  Have a generator but sent it home with our daughter and her family since she and Ed have two little ones.

Probably not in the best positon as we typically like to but we're headed into town and stocking up so Jan will have stuff.  I'll be working so it don't matter to me.

All the forecasts say mother nature is about to bitchslap us sumthin fierce.

It's currently 16 degrees here and they're predicting up to 22" of snow to fall and sustained winds of 60mph with gusts from 70 - 90mph beginning tonight.  Gonna finish it off with a nice little addition of an icestorm.....

Everybody is battening down the hatches to try to ride this out.  The stores and roads are packed with people stocking up.

They're even predicting blizzards and drifting snow at the ocean beaches............when is summer??

Work has passed the word to all of us to expect to be on storm response for over a week at a time and to pack accordingly.  I use to love this stuff 30 years ago but I'm too fat and old for this now................

Me too, steers REALLY nice.......  Tommy can hook you up and the prices are killer good and he'll help you with the routing questions.  Nuthin to it (unless you mount the rack upside down and don't realize it till you launch the boat  . Don't be asking how I know).

God I love those old pictures.  I have no experiances like that as I didnt discover these boats till I was in my 40's but can so appreciate the good times those pictures represent.

Just picked up a "donor" motor tonight..  My old motor was too nice to gut and make into something different so it's going to stay on the stand after freshening up in case something happens with the "donor"...... 

Jan says I can have some play money after the holidays and the IRS robs us and I can't wait.  Not gonna be stupid but I really would like to step it up a bit...

Looks great Ralph.  Having just gone thru this, if there's anything I can do to lend some advice, please let me know. I don't know what I'm doing but it turned out okay and you and your pops are such craftsmen, I'm certain it's gonna be badass.

For the record,  I went single stage on the bottom and base/clear on the sides and top like what HD mentioned and am really happy.  I also agree with what GT and Proppy said about mixing in some additives in the resin. I used Collidial Silica for the bulk of the high strength glassing/fillin and then went with the microballons to finsh the shaping.

I'll be the first to admit, IF I had the coin, I'd jump on a full roller setup along with a billet block, Callies crank and a bizillion other highdollar things.  What I'm not sure is if I would ever have a chance to really appreciate what they are capable of.

With our crappy weather up here, I'm hoping to get our boat wet for 6 to 10 times a year.  Given that I pee my pants whenever I get scared (no, not really...ugh, no really I'm kiddin), I'm just not sure if a Big M block, double forged and whizz'd banged BBC is really necessary....  A Roller motor is along these lines.  I'm not sure with my junk parts if I would ever realize the potential that it can provide OVER a good flat tappet cam.
