The small drain hoses take some time, but you can leave it over night?

In many of the race boats that I have been around and built engines for, an AN fitting is put into the pan and capped off.  When it's time to change the oil, a separated hose is run though the drain in the transom, the cap unscrewed and the hose screwed onto the fitting without losing much oil, so it's easy to clean up.  Using a -10 fitting (5/8" hose) lets it drain reasonably quickly.

Two heats, Lance easily won both heats even after sportingly giving up almost half a lap to go back and pick up a missed buoy.  Jim Rich finished 2nd in both heats.

Once I sell my single plane and tunnel ram I'm down for one, hopefully it'll still be available

Why would he use 9's in a lower compression, pump gas engine?  If you had the turbos on it, then I could see that.

Also, I for one,  do not agree with a 750 cfm carb on a 557 cubic inch performance engine. 

If you want to bring the pieces of the Chevy by here one day, I may be able to tell you what happened to it.

The senders are available in two different types.  Try calling Rex Marine and see what they have.  Any shop that has sold gauges and senders for any period of time will be aware, and should be able to sell you the correct one, especially since you know that if you ground the gauge it pegs rather than going to zero.

You could put an ohm meter on the sender, but you have already proved it to not be compatable with the gauge, or broken (stuck)

Did you replace the sender, or has the boat always been this way?

The way the sender works is that it varies resistance to the gauge, and there are two basic types of senders,, normally open contacts, or normally closed.  If you have the wire off the sender, turn on key,, no need to start engine, touch the wire to ground will probably peg the gauge. 

Should be easy enough to put the 780 on and try for yourself?

Something is wrong with the $130 price for a kit for the 600, should be around $30 or so, unless that was including labor to rebuild it.

I have a couple of sets of Mickey Thompson aluminum valve covers for BBC $40 per pair, Cheap!

guys barry knows his shit, i talked with him at the long beach race they were pitted next to me and he was pitting for lance  aka nailhead. he built lances motor and its no joke verry respectible power.
