Well good luck with that. Got popped on a site using a hydrant without a meter 5k fine and they sent someone out to " estimate how much water" I used and billed us for it, throw down a liner put a couple feet of dirt on top of it and call it good

I've pushed a lot of dirt and built
a few ponds.....

Evaporation is faster in hot climates of course....  Lots of clay in the soil. Lower perc rate....

Water slowly 'percolates' or filters into the ground back to water table level eventually emptying the pond unless you : 1. Have inflow from natural source. ( rain- creek, spring etc) or introduced by hose.
2. Liner, to hold the water in.

The perc' rate is dependent on the type of soil.... Lots of clay.  Slow perc rate.  Sandy.... Fast.

Yes, It could have been worse...damage wise that is....... Now I'm dealing with an adjuster who I'm thinking believes the claim money is coming out of his own pocket.

He's dodged me for a week but I got him coming to my office tomorrow AM ....I'm gonna tune him up.

Anyone living in Elsinore should have been out today and at least a couple other times this year too.     Off season is awesome boating in So Cal.  In my younger days we would ski the mountains and the lake in the same day.  Good times but then gas was a buck a gallon too.

Ski in Big Bear in the AM.  Bodysurf at the Wedge in the afternoon......

Adjuster came by yesterday! Hopefully the process will be better than your experience. You pay and pay for coverage and if something happens you expect to have the company stand behind you and do ya right.... We'll see.

Thx Mid..... I got the temp tarp on the roof last night, cleared most of the broken branches/debris.... Ins company is supposed to get an adjuster out within 48 hours...meanwhile I'm looking today for a temp spot to store the boat. I have the damn thing half apart going multiple refit/upgrades....,I don't want to
Leave it outside. Elec co is supposed to come and reset the power pole that was blown askew out front as well.

Yup...... I'm thankful the tree 'caught ' the garage.   I'm thinking serious damage had it fallen back down on the boat
