Ray's just begging to give someone a spanking in one way or the other tonight...    :sly:

I'm starting to get worried, Ray.   :-\

LMAO you should be, but no, to my displeasure, noone got spanked last nite. ('Cept me, if you count the slight beer and rum hangover I'm feeling this morning)

Events / What's everyone doing the 4th of July
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:12:58 AM »
Was just thinking to myself, which is dangerous, I know, but since the 4th is on Saturday this year, what's say we try another get together? Haven't seen anything on the 4th posted yet.

Could be Blythe, Parker, Mead, whatever, just tossing it out there.

Or does everyone wanna come down here, lol. Got the pool under control, methinks, and enough room for maybe 8-10 people.
(Kids are gone for the summer, can you tell I might get lonely?) And we have the lakes here to wreak havoc on. Just an idea. Need someone to pick up the ball on this one, lol.

LMAO Phucking Glenn, LMAO!
You Kill me dude,

Ray

And the engine WILL do more RPM (A LOT more), just hadda lift everytime I tried one of these runs. I either run outta lake, smooth water, and/or balls every time I tried to GPS this thing. (I vote more on the balls end of it, I'm not as young as I once was)

Wow! There is more information in there than you can buy! ;D

Glenn's the man! lol

Still concerned about the rattle though, lol And the wrist pins. Something new to me.

Floaters I get, but that is a ford/mopar thing, not a chebbie thing.

Can be done, but Why?

If you're gonna go to that extreme, drop a BBF or (Dare I say it) a BBC to do so, much cheaper? ???

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: SUNKEN BOAT HELP!!!!
« on: May 19, 2009, 10:09:42 PM »
YAY...We got the motor fully running today. Cept theres a problem with the carb...The gas is just pouring into it like theres no restriction at all.  Just overflows. So we have to figure this carb out. BUt the good news is that we got it started and have changed the oil twice as of right now.. gonna have to get more oil and oil filters tomorrow as wel as a new fuel filter. Im sure my brother will be on later to explain more.

Nope Follow Andy's advice. I can guarantee it's a dirt issue in the carb.

No tabs being kept, just looked back at your old post about your engine.

But it RUNS, and wants to keep running far beyond where I wanted it to be, lol. Went a little nuts, and that's what scares my son (My daughter LOVES IT).

Haven't had the pump looked at, but I'm told by PO that it was set up with a stainless AA impeler with his hot rodded engine that's on my stand now. Can't veryify that, nor do I care at this point, >:D

Here's my thought on a happy wife, lol since that is what got me into this thread.

Cin apporved of this BTW, did this joke on her a few years ago, so I'm good on the karma side of it!

Rich guy and poor guy are in a bar, get to talking. Rich guy says "hey it;s my anniversary!" to which the poor guy says "no shit? Mine too!! What'd you get your wife?"

Rich guy says, " I bought her the most beautiful diamond necklace you can imagine, but just in case she hates it, I bought her a new Mercedes 650SL so she can go exchange it if she wants"

They drink a few more beers, and then finally, the rich guy asks, "What'd you get your wife?"

He looks in his beer and says" Well, I bought her some new slippers and a dildo. That way if she don't like the slippers she can go phuck herself."

Lol I love that joke,

Lol there's the push. But you want GOOD oil, use what I use in the moo. The Blue one uses VR1 50 weight for now. Gonna change this winter when she gets a new engine! (And yeah, I'll figure out the oil leak, just a matter of cat and mouse time!)

We'll figure it all out, now onto the Submarine and the new Hallett, just dunno where I'm gonna go on those, lol

Maybe the speed is correct, but the tach is off.  I ran 73 @ 4700 with a stainless A and an inducer.

We need to get Ray some safety gear and lets go roundy round.

Lol! Let's go! Dunno if I wanna go out that way, but I'm in! Kids are away for the summer, got nothing but work and time on my hands, lol.

Quote
Ray you would beat the shit out of my race boat if you can get it to run 5500 rpm

Ralph, I dunno, but the engine I'm guessing peaks at around 5900 rpm. I doubt seriously if the pump would keep going to that extreme. Why am I under the gun on this? This cannot be that unusual!.

Anyway, yeah, I think it's got more in it, I've run out of smooth lake and brave GPS holders to push it as far as it will go on every attempt, but I'm guessing it's an easy 80+ mph boat. And that is that. Sorry it looks like a cow guys, but it is what it is. ;D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure, lol.

Tell you what Skip, Sweety, noones been in the boat when I've made these GPS attempts that even remotely doubts what they saw (They watch the GPS, I try and keep us alive) I could be off on the rpm, kinda hard to watch that and keep everyone safe on the lakes I been on, but I don't think so. I think I over built this thing, myself, for it's (well THEN) intended purpose.

C'mon down, or wait till June and see for yourself, I'll even let you drive it if you doubt this. I don't,  ;D

My son STILL will not ride in it if he see's me jacking up the throttle getting braver.

Ray

Mooooooo! lol

I'm running 5/8 (hose size) on the water and 5/16 on the fuel hoses until it gets to the engine, it drops to 3/8. Gonna depend on the pressure and actual volume you need whether you need more hose or not. I have 2 750's and at cruise speed (55 or so) pressure is fine at 5 lbs. No idea what it is at WOT, boats never been totally there, and when near there, kinda hard to convince anyone to go look at it, lol.

All the plumbing fittings you need are 1/2 inch that I have seen, for the most part, on the water system, though mine drops to 3/8 for the header outlet. (Pipe fitting sizes)  Don't confuse pipe fitting size with hose size. The oulet from a Berk pump is 3/8 NPT, so go from there. Regular heater hose size (5/8) is fine off the barb fittings. Idea is to keep the temp in the 160-180 range (Low IMO, but these are boats, not cars),

I'm gonna be picking 2sav's brain this winter in converting the Moo to all braided stainless and don't know what AN sizes I need. Just gathering chit blindly right now, lol.

Dunno if I answered anything or just ranted.
