I put it up to the back of my boat to see what it would look like if it where slow. Then I threw the SOB on the ground hopping I would crack the bowl so Brad couldn't use it. I felt bad afterword since Brad and his mullet really do go hand in hand with a jet pump...So please fix this Mr. Jet Boat Performance so Brad can complete his image... ;D Just in time for Halloween!   :D  Anyone got an AldiNova CD...errrr...tape Brad can borrow?  :-*

Aldo Nova?   Why yes i do ;D

Go's with my boat the Fantasy.

Just like their song, life is a Fantasy, can you live this Fantasy life :o

I have a few sheets of dynamat... I'll use quite a bit of it...

Just enough to cover the inside of the box ;D any more is a waste.

Good luck cant wait to see it finished.

So now that you know we're talking 6x9's what's the diagnosis?

The box need's  some type of sound deadener inside  like dynamat or a thin mat, some people have even used house insulation off the roll. I dont recomend that.

Being the box is more fiberglass than wood it will sound like a old am radio ( tinny)  It needs some depth to it.

Maybe check your local stereo shop and see what they  use?

thread title =  "Re: Tower Speaker Fiberglass Box 6x9s."

yes i did not read the title, i looked at the pic and it took me back in the day when i used to do that stuff. Im sorry if i threw you off track its my fault for not paying attention.

im just looking to see if any one is interested in  a 455 block thats .40 over  with restricters installed and new cam bearings fresh set of "ka" heads a Nodular crank of course i have the pistons to go with the block already pressed on rods. Edelbrock Torker intake, engine mounts, Dooley 10qt oil pan, a freshley rebuilt 455 starter and so on. this engine is ready to be put together all machine work is done.

I know im probably wasting my time but as you know you guy's get first dibbs then its off to ebay if i decide to go with a different engine.

I know it sounds funny but im looking to see how hard it will be to unload all this to help fund the start over motor ;D

I can post pics if you want.

2 sav , Do you actually read the threads that you post in? He said it was for six by nines! And if you can't read you could tell by looking at the box , seeing how the surfaces for mounting were oblonged.

Sorry my fault, it looked to me it was for 10" subs

Thanks for pointing that out ;D

2sav

4599
Got a single 12" bandpass box that used to be in a boat fo sale  ;)

You should keep it for the PT boat ;D

I dont know what you plan on using for subs in the box but i would not port it until you hear it first. If it sounds ok leave it alone but you will not get much for a good sound at a high volume.

When you port a box it depends on the frequency the sub and of course the dimensions of the box are all big factors ;D so if you want to experiment with porting after you hear it and dont like the way it sounds, this might sound cheap or ghetto but alot of people use the 2"  or larger pvc pipe for porting their boxes. This way you can cut different lengths  and see what gives you the best sound and performence at higher decibels without distorting the subs.

Dont let this bring you down or stop you from building it. You have a good idea and should continue it.

Now all you can do if perfect it ;D
