Had quite the thunderstorm blow in about an hour ago.  Damaged my roof.... Trees down.... Totally destroyed boat garage.... But I lucked out..... The garage was blown into the pine tree and a large branch poked a hole thru the structure holding it up!  GF called.  I flew home and hooked up to my boat and pulled it out.  A lot my parts I had laid out are scattered in my neighbors pasture...   But the boat is ok...

sZhZizt!!!!!    There goes the first trip $$$$.  Deductible is $1500.0

Sanded and sprayed the nozzle and fwd /rev control arm in anticipation of getting the diverter. I used appliance epoxy. I tested it on a piece of aluminum scrap. It covered well and It turned out ok.
Next is the the transom plate and bowl.

Trailers / Trailer stuff
« on: March 16, 2013, 07:01:53 PM »
Removed the old trailer tongue today. It was shot when I picked up the boat at the river last July..but made it to Mississippi .... I fitted it its good I'll take it back
off tomorrow and pull the old  wiring and brake lines an replace em. I haven't pulled the wheels but I'm sure the brakes will need to be replaced as well.
It's in pretty good shape for being as old as it is.

The allen's holding the nozzle in are 3 different lengths....and the stud/ bolt combo  were barely hanging on....i guess that's all the previous owner had when he put the wedge on. Speaking of which, it says its a 2• degree Super Jet'
Will I need the wedge when I put the diverter on?

Cont....

Pulling the nozzle..... Came off with no problems. Looks ok. I will have to get new nylon inserts all around as the ones that were in it are pretty thin. I also want to RR the  bolts holding the nozzle housing as they are mismatched:  5 Allen bolts and 3 studs with bolts holding it on.  While I have it off, is there anything other than obvious damage to look for?  I haven't done this before and want to cover all the bases while I've got it apart.   Also: the photo if the bolt/ retainer clip (off the F/Rev cable ). Where can I buy one? It looks ok, but the closest  marine store is 100 miles from me I want backup.

A good way to determine what size power valve you need is take a vacuum reading at idle and divide that number x 2 (13#-2= 6.5) also a little tip is quick fuel,Holley and bg rebuild kits say that there non stick gaskets for the metering plates and bowls if you spray them with Pam cooking spray you can easily change the jets and power valves to dial it in perfect without messing up the gaskets

Sounds good .....I'll give that a shot.....
Thanks!
