Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: too much water in the headers?
« on: November 15, 2013, 06:59:39 AM »
There should be two valve one on the pump and one on the dump. The one on the dump is to provide alittle back pressure so it pushes the ball and spring on the header t to give the headers some water. There's a diagram on the Bassett site and Jet boat performance website.

The valve on the pump is to adjust the flow to the motor which in turn adjust motor temp. And the one on the on dump like I mentioned earlies to to control the flow i the headers

Looks sweet, I really like it when the scoop is mounted low to the point it's almost sitting on the intake. Hides a lot of the ugly and well let's be honest ferds is some ugly motors. Move it far enough forward so you can hide the distributor and mount it as low as possible. And then when you want to sell it let me know so I can come get it.

Ditch it for a Holley. So much easier to rebuild and clean.

Do you need a rectangle port manifold or a oval. Sounds like a dumb question but I personally know a few guys that run rectangle intakes on oval port heads

The No Wake Zone / Re: Posting Pics
« on: November 13, 2013, 01:45:42 PM »
As many forums as I'm a member of which a few to name are, powerstrokearmy, thedieselstop, chevelleforum, coloradok5, pwc today, xh20, pb, jbpforum, trx450r  and theres a few more. But of all of them this is the most user friendly site I have ever been a member on and is my most visited/participated forum. I have half the issues with this site compared to the others.

As far as posting pictures I have never had a problem on my desktop and one once dent where my phone wouldn't post anything at all but it was an easy fix, reinstall and it was all good. The only learning curve with the app is you have to wait 15-20 seconds after the first picture to post your reply/ thread or add another picture.

But IMO this is thee best forum I have had the privelage of being a member on. A lot of great guys and help is avaiable to anyone who asks usually for the price of a few beers and good company. I can honestly say I have no complaints givin the current rise of other member issues and I be believe a big thanks to brad is in order.

Great site man and thanks.

For the cost of a good boat cover you could buy a tin garage. And it will last much longer

That boat has an AA, that came straight from Bob Fry's mouth... It is a Mike Declark AA impeller detailed by Greg Shoemaker.   Not my first rodeo my man...  ;)

GT

I thought we were talking turbo motors not horse crap?

If we were talking variable torque, the turbo deal would be a monster..... IMHO you are safer with big cubic inches and lower crankshaft speeds...

I doubt this will be challenged.... SocalPSD....    :screwy:

GT

Ahh my friend I do believe the thing your forgetting is..........VGT, variable geometry turbo.   With alittle tuning my old 6.0 powerstroke made full boost at 1600 rpms with little to no load and I could of dropped it to an even lower rpm. Some tuning and bam. Virtually no lag and the benefit of adjustable boost without swapping pullys like a supercharger or impellers and housings like regular turbos.

BOOM! That's right. I did it.

Although the arguement I really don't care for forced induction. I'm more of a n/a guy.

Trailers / Re: Replacement steel fenders and steps
« on: November 08, 2013, 09:15:17 PM »

Thank you GlassCutter and uncleBOBBY. Damnit, this is America! Boat trailer fenders should be for sale already chromed! You should be able to buy vintage style jet boat seats on-line already built! And last but not least, I want to work a 40 hour week and have enough to buy a house, have a new car, and my wife not work. Sorry, I have been daydreaming too much.

It's doable, but forget the new car part of it lol.
