Cool, good lookin' ride there Ray, sounds like a typical first outing to me, that place looks cool! except maybe the pee pee rock LOL.

Looks like "Step Three" is a keeper.  ;D  FWIW if it didn't have some gremlins it wouldn't be a boat.... ;)

GT

It is kinda cool. But TINY. I'm glad I didn't bring the Moo boat because I coulda never really opened her up anyway. The lake itself isn't as big as what water we could see from our motel rooms at Temple bar, and the pics you see were in the ONLY little canyon leading off the lake (and you can see how wide THAT was)

But beautiful? yes! But not worth a trip to see. I got about 3 dozen more pics of it, which pretty much would be a tour. That's why Bartlett next weekend. We'll see how that goes. Need a Fav lake to terrorize, lol.

Could very well be. I never posted pics of the mess of cut wires where a stereo used to exist. Methinks the problem lies within......

Well, we took her out today at Canyon Lake. At first, I saw disaster realizing the kids had been playing in the boat, and since I was about 10 miles from the lake when I filler her up, realized they had turned on the bow light (Which is apparently NOT wired through the ignition switch), and it may have been on for days. GREAT! I'm thinking dead batteries.

Anyway drop in in the lake, starts fine, a little sluggish, low battery, but runs good. None of the guages save the Fuel guage works. GREAT! Take it out anyway, (I got a spare engine, why not?) actually had 7 people in the boat and cruise all day in it. What a blast this thing is. Quiet, kinda, cruises at 55 or so with no problem (Will NOT spin above what seems like 3500-4000 rpm via seat of the pants). Tosses out a good roost (Knocked a prick off a wet bike who was being an ass fuggin around in my wake, when he got close enough, lol).  I'm sold on these diverters, what fun. My friends hadda control me from trying to swamp a couple canoes and one guy in a kayak. It was tempting >:D

Great day. Beached it near the dock at the end of the day (Potty break), fugger wouldn't start (Dead Batteries), and then we tried jumping it, still wouldn't start. Hadda get towed to the launch dock about 100 yards away. Prolly a gremlin in there somewhere (or flooded). Oh well. A good day with it tho. Knocked a bunch of screws loose (On the boat, mine already were), and the guage quagmire should be something simple I'm sure. I LIKE IT! Great boat!, just needs some more HP or at least RPM. Could be the pump. You guys saw what the Impeller looked like, that could be just the tip of the iceberg with the pump. Gonna check out the throttle linkages and crap this week to see if that could be the problem.

Next Sunday, BARTLETT LAKE, BOTH BOATS, lol
Hope to see Forkie and TC there.

I immediately named this Omar point, if you notice the rock formation on the RIGHT!

And the roost

So, not quite turnkey. Got some wiring issues, and probably an alternator, but not bad.

And did I mention I LIKE IT?

Shoulda kept my mouth shut, coulda had some fun w/ Ray

I saw you comin on that one!

Hey Ray, what kind of intake manifold did you have on there before this swap? And might you be interested in selling it?

It's an Edelbrock Performer RPM. (Not the air gap one). New, really, the only run time it has had was during the cam Break in, the weekend at Mead and  one short local lake ride. Dunno if I wanna sell it or not tho. It worked VERY well, and from what I got today from the new cruiser I may want to use it on that one, maybe, who knows?.

Omar sent me an Easter-gram the other day, as soon as I can figure out how to post it from my Blackberrry to here....... LMAO It is FUNNY, and yes, it's as sick as you all suspect it is!!!! Lol.

Be careful on craigs list with that, lol almost got into one knee deep on a tow rig like that. Posted in PHX, guy claims he was miltary stationed in San Diego getting shipped out to Iraq, truck was in Syracuse, NY, and wanted me to use escrow from a company in San Jose.

I laughed in his cell ear and called the feds, lol

They called me about 6 times for more specifics,

Dunno what they ever found out, but.......BEWARE!!! People wanting to become former perps( Via my 45 and 10mm) are EVERYWHERE!!!!! and they are getting slick.

I'm not kidding, ask the ole lady, that thing would frost up and have condensation running off it.

Maybe I shouldnt'a put the pan back in. It didn't seem to do much with the RPM intake? 'cept hold some of the milkshake back, lol. I guess we'll hafta see. I plan a lot of seat time this summer in it, so we'll find out! No diverter, so you and the 'ole lady' (She'll beat ME for saying that) are safe riding in my wake at Echo Bay. You can check for frost then, lol.

Hey Ray at least you have your dizzy at the right end   LOL ;D

Does make it easier, but in all honesty, clearance wouldn't have been an issue had the dizzy been on the 'wrong' end, lol. And I coulda ran my Comp 9000! But it does run sweet! Did the same thing with it after resetting everything and reindexing where #1 starts, get it to true TDC, back it off to about 10 degrees BTDC, tightened it up. She fired first try (After the fuel bowls filled up).

Funny thing was, ran the llines like I did so it would line up easily for a rear mounted electric Holley Black pump I got. But the fuel pressure at idle off the mechanical was 7 psi? Might not need the electric after all.

Luv ya Terry

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about, driving while jiggling wires under the dash! Haven't done that since High School! What Hot rodding is all about!

Good luck with it, I'm unfamiliar with the Morse combo controls. Were it me, I'd bypass this 'neutral safety' switch as a test to begin with. Then start there. I think, with all respect to Glenn, you're gonna find the ballast resistor is the issue, IMHO. (Why I went Hyfire and dun run one). Never liked the idea behind those Mofo's EVER!

lol, that wasn't the joke in that, the joke was the reversal tool, lol

Ray

If your spring is upside down the ball will fit inside it...........no BS. You'll need a spring reversal tool.

Thanks Terry, As I've said before, couldn't have done this without you. I think you knew this was possible all along tho. My lil brain kinda worked overtime getting the carbs mounted this way, but wow, does it look sweet like this (Not as sweet as your Dominators over an 8-71 huffer, but still sweet).

Thanks for the info. thought they were -8. Didn't want to order fittings and have them the wrong size,

The braided lines I got with the headers seem to be -6 with -8 fittings on them. Weird. No I did not weld the weep holes (Thanks Nordie), lol. Gonna order a few fittings and some -8 braided to start to clean up this plumbing this week. Taking BOTH boats out next Sunday!! Gotta see how well this setup works and get a GPS on it. All indications are the intake swap went smooth.

FYI, when putting a Weiand Tunnel ram on a BBF, don't use the front and rear seals with the intake set!. RTV. They don't tell you that. Also used the race "pan" that was under the RPM, so two layers of RTV, but it still worked.

Sounds like Glenn got it. But I'd still replace the ballast resistor, if you're running one. Sounds to me like the ceramic coating might be gone in one spot and a lil water...viola. Used to have the same thing happen in Mopars til I got smart and started mounting the things on top of a fenderwell instead of the firewall where water always hit it.

Just my .02

OK, Been awhile since I updated everyone on this whole deal. Got the fuel lines ran, then redid them again a couple of days ago with real AN6 fittings and hose (Might be small, we'll see).  But got it fired! Was hesitating, but after simply firing her for 3 or 4 seconds, 3 times, she idles at 800 rpm! Something she couldn't do with 1 750 carb.

Got some routing issues with the plumbing now that I have to fix before the engine cover goes back in. One wants to run on the crank, the other too close to the alt. Should be able to get the engine cover back in complete with dual remote filters that I HOPE will lower the Oil pressure. What size AN fitting fits the Bassett T valve? -10 or -8? I think I can solve that one with that,  a -10 or -8 AN to 1/2" MPT 90, the other one needs a compression 90 to 1/2" FPT. Problem solved without going to all Braided stainless and AN fittings right now. (will eventually, this thing has cost me enough thus far, and is working fine).

I mean the temp in the engine, lmao, what is this, full moon pick on ray day? C'mon, lol I got the Moo boat fired this afternoon, give me a lil break, lol

That WAS funny Terry, almost as funny as I blindly called around for a carb reverse kit, rofl. My friends here get a Hoot from that!.

Sorry to hear what's going on Nordie. Anything I can do, PM me. I know I'm 400 miles away, but I've been through stuff like this before. Gawd I'm getting old! And getting drunk right with yah! Thinking I might fire the Moo in the garage here at about 2 AM just to check the neighbors response times. >:D
