SoCal Lakes / Re: Elsinore 6/8
« on: June 06, 2014, 10:40:28 PM »
I launched at la Laguna last weekend and don't like it. 1. The police launch there as well and I'm anti cops plus my boat is obnoxious and eye catching 2. It was windy as shit as I rolled out to the bouy's and the wind wakes were almost coming in the side, at least at west marina it's kinda blocked by wind till you get out to the wake zone

I saw you coming out of the launch ramp last weekend. I may have to check that out the other ramp. The waves arnt that bad for me my boat is a little higher out of the water tho. But cops is a diff story.

Nothing drives me crazier than seeing a million colors on upholstery.
Then the guy tries to sell it, and all I can think is "who the fock is buy that!?

I could be way wrong with this. Are your floats set too high, air fuel set properly, do you have a pressure regulator? What do your plugs look like? Jetting from what I gathered all depends on your set up.  If your boat ran fine with the 77's and plugs were good. I'd stick with the 77's

The original carb was a 650 vacuum secondary with 86 jets and that I replaced that with a carb I had in the garage which was a 750 double pumper I'm down to 62 primary jets and 63 secondaries it's running better on the trailer need to take it to elsinore Sunday and get it all solved

sounds to me like you got somethin stuck in the carb in the needle/seat I'm no expert but I just went through this with mine and from what you got for psi then it's seems to be your carb

ya I'm rebuilding the carb this week then back to elsinore and see if she is all fixed

whats your fuel pressure at and what fuel pump do you have? I had the same issue with mine and it turned out to be my fuel pump

Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats

fuel pressure is 5.5-6 psi and i have an electric fuel pump rated and 4-7 psi.

so I'm not sure if anyone is still following but I fixed the electrical problem now I have a new one  when you let off the throttle it dies and takes forever to start back up. Im thinking the carb is flooding the motor becaise it reeks of gas when finally starts. any ideas on something else that may cause this.

Just saw this thread also great job on your Dana it looks bitchin as far as the cutting out goes not too sure did you change the coil wire when you put the new one on? Not 100% sure that would do it but makes sense in my head ya know! You should drag it out Sunday to elsi with us maybe trouble shoot it there too.

I will see if i can make it out this weekend. Also i just ordered a cap and rotor, plugs and wires and found a "loose" comection (hand tight) on the ignition key ground so maybe that was it Doubtful but we will see.

Just found this thread.  Great job on the interior, that thing looks great.  Wish you luck on the cutting out issue, that one sounds like it could be a pain to troubleshoot.

Thank you I am pleased with how it came out. makes the boat look a lot newer and nicer.

Also, I checked the wiring didn't notice loose connections. Anyone have any input as to what may cause this problem.
