As long as you have a water temp gauge, I'd close the valve a turn or two. Also check the spring and check ball in the tee valveyeah the temp gauge is fucking around too, and the T valve is brand new but I have another might switch them out to see if it doesn't anything, would really notice a cracked head that's what I'm really worried about
Do you have a gate valve at the pump to "regulate" flow?didnt quote the first lol
Make sure you get the same resistance or your gauges won't read correct. I put new gauges in mine a few weeks back, original oil gauge read 75psi at idle, new gauge read 17psi at idle. Scared the hell out of me.thanks Good to know I appreciate all the help
Around 40 bucks I got the temp one too and I'm impressed with them both alot more accurate readawesome they have both of them there, thank you for the info I'm heading down there right now
I had same problem with using stock sending units so I went to pep boys and got the good auto meter sending unit and seems to give me a lot better readhow much did that cost you at pep boys
Do you have an electrical or mechanical gauge? If electric, just like Jake said, perhaps your sending unit craped out, if there is an open in the wire the gauge will max out. I also read that you have a ten quart pan and you put ten quarts of oil in with an additional quart of Slick 50, I think you are a tad over full, but this is not the cause of your high pressure reading. Normal cold thick oil pressure at idle can be 70-80psi until the oil thins out with heat.thanks for the info Its an electrical gauge so It could be the sending unit, but the slick 50 wasn't a while quart. But either way you say that's not the reason the psi is really high which is good so would you say it narrows it down to the sending unit or a break in the wire ?
Is it at 100 after the engine runs for a while?
I haven't ran it more than 5 mins out of the water so I'm not too sure if it will drop after running

Dual batteries are nice if you play the stereo without the motor running. What I normally do is run a regular group 24 for the engine and have a smaller battery for the accessories and added insurance for starting purposes.when you say smaller battery how small are we talking. I have a good battery for the engine but have a good size stereo (2 subs and 4 6x9 ) came with the boat when I bought it, I just don't see the need for a deep cycle battery just to run a stereo
Do you need it? Well, I guess not until you need it.. lol
If you always go boating worth a friend, just make sure you have a set of long jumper cables on the boat. Mine are like 15' and came in a zipper bag.

Hello guys, I am in need of a shop I can take my boat to get the services (pump,oil,etc) and I need my carb tuned. I live in San Diego, CA and I only know of JP Marine in Lakeside but I would like to know if you guys can recommend anywhere else. My motor is a an Olds 455 with Berkley pump and jet. Ya. I was thinking about buying it last year before I bought my Bahner. He wouldnt budge off 3500 tho, couldn't see paying that much and having to sink some more into itDamn Yeah he was ready for it to go when I called on it in November I got a good deal on it, but have dropped a good amount on it, swapped motor to a built 427 and the gas tanks and diverter, gauges, I'm hopefully going to elsinore sat to run the new motor for the first time
