is that a JB pump?  It sure does look like it has seen some hard use and minimal TLC. 

I would say it depends on local laws.  Personally I'm a little buffalowed as to see where there is any crime .

 JK, SnoC653.  Glad you finally got yours home and welcome to the Oldskool Eliminator club.     How does it look in person ?   

 For those that don't know, SnoC653 picked up this one and has some future plans of possibly going circle racing with it (if I remember right).

The hull is solid with no visible delam.  The pump turns free but I'm thinking it will get a setback and a whirlaway.  The boat needs the rubrail seam capped and the floors redone.  So I'll probalby fill the dash holes and start with a blank slate.  The boat will probably be painted back yellow as that is the main color I see under the red paint.  As I was driving back with Art's old Bissi in tow also the paint and name came to me based on the underlieing yellow.  Art looked the boat over and he said the design and layup should work to turn circles safely (well as safe as any racing boat) although he said performance was dependent on setup (intake angles and placement) and HP (isn't it always).  I guess when it all goes back together we'll see what the mighty mopar can lay down.  In any case it is a good start and should make a fun toy.   

Ok you need to get this thing wet and let me know what I need to do/not do with mine.  I finally got it back to Iowa and can't wait to get underway on the rebuild.  But, I was hoping you'd already have figured out what i shouldn't do that you might have done.  Other than polish the tunnel ram.  That looks killer but I don't like pretty enough to put all that extra work into it.  Your's is looking good though.  Maybe sometime in the year 2020 or so when mine is done we can run them both together. 

Different worlds different names.  I remember as a kid, one of the hydroplanes knocked a huge hole in one of the sponsons.  Mom and us kids were the supply team as we drove the station wagon to the closest lumberyard to buy a sheet of 1/8" panneling, a saw, and some 100mph tape.  Before the next heat they had the sponson patched back together with the 100mph tape covering almost the entire outter surface.  I guess if we had hydroplanes that could have done 200 I might have learned it as 200mph tape too.   I guess he must have really cracked the hull a lot more than just the nose to replace the whole boat and not just fix it. 

Good thing I'm stubborn.... finnal score 2243.2  need to go back and try a few more times and see if i can whittle some more time off them.  On attemp 88 now. 

I think Mantra splashed several different boats.  Mine is a Sleekcraft splash and even says Sleekcraft on the title.  HIN clearly proves it is a Mantra.  Mine was also laid up very lite and had no foam under the deck.  Had no support either so has a crack where someone stepped on it.  Just more to fix.     Mine is also a 77 and does not have the angled guages nor are the stringers as heavy as yours.  Yours must have been rigged for a different purpose at the factory as mine also had a Jacuzzi pump.  What is your HIN?   

Tom could you PM me a ball park figure on what it would cost to have a cav plate pedal system like this made for an eliminator like propless has?  Wouldn't need the plates just everything else.  Or should I be looking into one of those hydraulic setups?
