Ok. I've read all that I can find on the google but cant find many real world examples of what people actually ended up with as far as biting edge depth and so on. I did take some measurements on mine. Both the loader and rear biting edges are about 1/2 inch below the level of the delta surface. If that seems to low I can easily trim the loader but I wouldn't know how to deal with the shoe because it is the rideplate which has simply been bolted onto the bottom of the hull. In other words, they didn't recess it into the hull behind the intake opening. I suppose it could be machined with a back cut but I don't know if that's kosher.. Any thoughts? I can get pics if anyone needs a better view.

When you guys say keel line are you talking about the flat of the delta or the keel in front of it? Because if you mean the pointed keel up front that's very difficult to measure. I'll crawl under there by I think the actuall v part of the keel starts to curve up toward the bow in front of the delta. So how can I position the straight edge? If you are referring to the delta itself then both the rear of the intake AND the loader leading edge are below that level.

Forgot to mention it was a fresh rebuild with a detailed bronze A prop and I don't have pressure taps on the suction housing.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who familiar with hardware setup on delta vee hulls. The boat is an eliminator bubble deck 18'. As you may know this hull doesn't have a huge delta but I've read that loader and shoe setup is a little trickier than on a rounded keel hull. The pump is an early dominator suction piece with a new bowl, droop, PD, Hardin ss loader, and inducer. The intake is machined but it has a one piece shoe/ride plate. This summer was my first time running the boat so I have no comparison data from before this setup. It runs 65mph at 4900rpm with a tunnel ram olds. I expected a little more top end so I was looking to tweek the jet hardware. I have not yet cut the loader. I'm wondering if I'm overloading the pump with the biting edges of the loader and or the rideplate/shoe. The rideplate is 1/4in and is flush against the keel behind the inlet. How do i measure for loader depth on a delta keel? Any insight is appreciated.

Do you know how old they are? Did 660s go on your olds? Im wondering what about them was "setup" for you boat already. Are you making a lot of power? I'm considering switching from 660 to these exact carbs on my olds with offy tunnel ram. Mainly for fuel economy. Did you mod the linkage on the 660s? Either way I'm interested.

I believe it's from a rinker mini jet boat. I think they had the mercury sport jet engine/pump combo. It's an outboard engine mounted inboard.

WOW, you needed more downward angle? i see your wedge is set up to add more down thrust than up....

I'm sure the intention was to lower the thrust angle. Then the diverter is trimmed up to compensate. Of course you lose the huge tail but... Might be faster. I'm thinking of trying it myself.

What kind of hardware did you use? Did you slot the holes to account for thermal expansion? How far below my wet headers should i keep it? What about finishing/ sealing between the plexi and the boat. I keep thinking that a peace of vinyl with piping at the top would look nice and also provide sort of a gasket but then I'd have to get more materials and have it stitched. Any thoughts? Pics would be great too and I'll definitely post some of mine..

When I first got my boat it didn't even have a t valve. I bought a brand new Bassett valve and like yours it was always open even with my 3 position header water valve set to "low." I simply opened up the t valve and stretched out the spring a little. Works perfectly now. I suggest you put a gate valve before the t valve so that you can find tune the t valve activation point.

That looks like a dominator pump. Look at the back of the bowl through the nozzle. There may be a grease fitting in the bowl tail.
