If this is the one in OC he originally had it for 7500. Price was dropped to 5000. I called on it he said he was waiting on some else this was over a week ago. Looks like the ad has been pulled today. So that might be a bargaining chip.

The only other thing I have seen is the proper bearing installed in the correct location but the installer was a animal and distorted them on install. My ex boss did it on almost every block......

From what I understand 385 series fords have major issues with flooding valve covers. Bush lifters and or restricted pushrods as well. The shop I worked at years ago did a BBC. Made a 505 out of it. Put it in the boat had a nice pan with a built in tray too. At about 3500 it lost oil pressure....Would do it on the trailer. Finally after a bunch of changes that did nothing. Pulled the pan and pulled the trick tray, installed a factory windage tray and no issues. The factory tray wraps around the oil pump. Good luck

Not sure about your timing light but, msd ignition systems require inductive lights to work properly.

I am no boat builder but, everything I i have read  for my boat is you must use epoxy resin and glass it in. Poly resin is not a permanent repair. The strength comes from the glass not the adhesive. Poly to lay up the hull, epoxy for add on or repair, anything after the hull comes out of the mold. This is only what I have read.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Rochester Quad. Carb Idle Issue
« on: September 04, 2016, 05:55:46 AM »
You might want to pull the throttle cable off the carb. Then check to see (by hand) if the throttle plates are being held open. Common problem is people over tighten those carbs. They then have a tendency to have the plates hang up. Do the check once you have some heat in the motor. I cannot tell you how many i have seen that needed work to them for this reason. Even to the point where the secondary would not open. Hope it helps.

I have the same boat as you do. Wilders are very light. Do not even THINK of walking or having a woman have her picture taken on the deck of your boat. With that said, the boat is a 1985 and has been a family river boat ALL of its life. It has stress cracks in it. Most of them are in the bow from the bulk head not being installed correctly. Currently there is no bulkhead and no support(which needs to be addressed) when it is fired up the dash rocks side to side. I would not recommend putting her in at Parker in the middle of the day or havasu either. If you were to you need to be careful and stay off the heavy foot. Chop is not you friend.

I have even seen new valve springs that were not set up right, or for the correct application. = Valve float.

What size carb is the tray for? 4150 or 4500?
