The No Wake Zone / Re: Maintenance Archives

Stored indoors. Got lucky and found a private shop that was just built, that is only about 500 feet from the boat launch at Devils Lake in Lincoln City. They don't have power yet, but soon.

I am with you on the moving south. Got a couple of more years to retire and we are definately southbound. Somewhere warm, near water with a good tax structure and as far away from the mega liberal state of Oregon as I can get. Dont get me wrong it has been a great place to live. I lived in Bend (high desert) for many years and now almost 28 here on the coast. I just need a change and to let somebody else enjoy all this beauty for a while. :banghead:

The No Wake Zone / Maintenance Archives
« on: January 12, 2009, 09:53:56 PM »
I have searched around a bit and am unable to find posts or archives relating to recomended maintenance, seasonal, storage, prior to first use of the season etc. Is there an archive or manuel others new to the sport have found useful?
Up here in the rainy northwest I have my boat in storage for the winter. Not sure if I should have done more than a good cleaning, gas saver in full tanks etc. I don't think there is a fuel shut off so I was not able to run the carbs dry like I do my Goldwing prior to winter. When the place I have it stored gets electricity I will hook a battery maintainer up to it. What should be done prior to first run?  I am assuming an oil change. What other equivalent to "lube, oil and filter" would I do? I think that there is some seeping from the seal around the jet intake...what is used to fill it? How about the steering/shift cables? Other words of wisdom? (other than..."the ox is slow, but the earth is patient" or some such...)
Thanks,
DT

Thanks for the replies. Someone a while back suggested it looked like a Carrera. I was looking for an avenger when I found this and fell head over heals for it. We have only had it out twice now since picking it up in September. Here ion the Oregon coast it is cold and wet and will be for a few months. I am hoping to get it out at least a couple of times this winter though, regardless. The only thing I don't like about it is the right side drive. My leg gets all crinked up cause the pedal is so close to the seat and I have not had a chance to extend it out. Not sure if that will mean longer cables or what. As you will no doubt notice I am new to the jet boat world. I have had sail boats (common, don't hold it against me!) for the last 25 years. And I aint going back!

FINS? I thought I got rid of fins when I sold my last sailboat!

Hulls / Gemin Boat

Last fall I purchased a 1989 Gemini, 20.5. The HN indicates manufactured in Arizona. NADA only shows a four year production run for Gemini. I am trying to get any information or history I can find about it. It is a great looking boat and I am mostly just curious. This is my first jet boat.
