Mine had a big nut srewewd on the hull where the rod goes thru.. when removed it gave me clearance to drop it thru at an angle... clearing bell housing, no motor removal

Is there beach launching at all there? I read you can launch a PWC from one of the camp sites but not a boat. I haven't ran this boat yet and I need to run it on the trailer for a bit but I don't want to piss off the ramp officials.. any suggestions? Also I got tagged last Sunday at Castaic for having a small bead of hose water in bilge. Does this mean I can't go to Elsinore this weekend? Any info will help. I am new to California.

Elsinore dont check boat for water...launch on side of dock in La Laguna and tie a ripe to it and tug it far up the dock and tie up...that way u dont suck up sand!!! Police not patrolling yet👍

Water quality is a lot better than last summer... water is higher than it has been in years, watch fencing and trees when pulling up to shore, get to know the lake. U couldnt see your feet before, oh and the cove is super full

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Advice on rebuild 460
« on: February 22, 2017, 03:01:38 PM »
Iron heads?  The cam and compression need to work together.  The more duration (the later the intake valve closes), the more static compression you will need in order to build cylinder pressure.

What type of boat and its intended application?  What impeller (could change)?  What type of exhaust?  Wet or dry?
Iron heads, its 1978 glencoe 19ft it has a A impellar i believe, open headers with water lines.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Advice on rebuild 460
« on: February 22, 2017, 08:17:36 AM »
Hey guys so i got a 460 torn down and very new to this rebuild thing.. what i know it has
 40 over piston,
claysmith cam h 290 8 b
750 holley carb
Pertronix ign
D3ve a2 heads

So my block is at machine shop with heads finding cc on heads and getting block bored 60 over. My question is what pistons and cam would b good to keep it on pump gas but still runs strong any help would be great dont want to dump money and b disapointed

Engines / Engine Parts For Sale / Re: Bbf need block
« on: February 06, 2017, 09:57:54 PM »
On a mild to medium build... .060 is not a problem and wouldn't worry about it too much. I know some guys will go .080 on stroker kits... but I get nervous about going that far without sonic checking the block for thickness and also making sure it is not crusty in the water passages. More than once, have had them develop a pin hole in the cylinder on crusty .080 over blocks.

Thanks considering all my options to fit the budget...motor failed compression test so its on to the drawing board
