« on: November 13, 2010, 05:07:30 PM »
So I finished as much sanding as I could. Smoothed out all my cuts around the bulkhead, gas tanks, ect...
I thought I was going to do all the repairs but after thinking about all the super half ass jobs I've done in the past I thought it would be best to hire a pro.
Towed the boat up to John Miller's (Miller Boats) shop today! Getting stringer, front bulkhead, side gunnel supports replaced. ;D
Along with flow coating all the above plus the transom!!!
Going to try and have it all done and running by Tom Papp in January, if not March will do just fine!

Goal: To have a 100mph 4 seater! I'd be so stoked with 90+!!!!
Color: Flat Blue/Black trim/motor/thru transom headers and everything else...Im over polishing!!
Maybe some white pinstriping done by my cousin (I told hiw he can have at it...).
Power: BBC, HP in the 650-750 range. Pump gas. Blower, tunnel ram, single carb...I don't know. Thats to far away. First will be addressing the structual integrity of the boat. Safety first!

Oh yea, I'm shooting for the next 4th of July to have it ready and at the river!

It's time to start back to basics here. I told myself when I bought this boat that I would run it/enjoy it untill it died then tear it all apart. Almost lasted a year (bought last Aug.2009). I bitched and moaned about the Oklahomo-nis of the rigging on the boat and I couldn't be happier to tear into this thing and start building it back up with all new hardware...lets just say that I have a pretty good vision in my head on how it will perform and look. Rigging? I'll admit it I will be stealing many ideas from Boost (dig your work bro!). Besides all that I cant wait to dive in...haven't had to since back in my Miller days!
I have a few pics to start off with.

some areas that will be addressed:

Some stress cracks

check out crack in passenger side stringer!

96 and up are Gen 6 I think.
Can you look into that for me.
My buddy is lookin for a block and what is if any over bore on the cylinders?

-beerjet-

I got my info from mortec. I did include the casting #'s. As far as bore...the block in my boat (block appears to be good, kicked rod out of the pan) is .030 over. The same exact block in my storage I will have to get my calipers out to find out for ya. I wont be home untill the weekend though.
