I have a Dominator 12TD in my 1990 Laveycraft, serial 16069 A, it does not have a packing gland at at. The newer ones do however. As your serial number is close to mine it may be the same. By the way mine had the same auto grease cup, it was plugged and did not work - I replaced with just a normal gert fitting.

tore it down....I was looking at the fixed bowl - not the impeller.

So everything looks clean,  main shaft  does needs bearings(64th out), but impeller/housing looks good(no metal wear/shavings).

I'm lost here gents....if the wear rings behind the impellor are gone would this cause my issue??? I found no wear rings in front of it...= nozzle end.

Motor surges like no traction with the water.....floor it all motor no speed.....motor overrevs......

'90 Laveycraft, 350SBC Marine / Dominator 12 TD Jet Pump: No shit - 300 original garage stored hours.

Lost all power today, ran fine 4 hours, slight metallic sound started...vibration started....then loss of power. Shut her down-put on trailer.....at home fired it up...main shaft turns but impeller does not turn @ idle....

So got to tear it down....impeller/shaft connection f'd up.......

Questions:
Anyone know this breed?
Any rebuild advise?
Any had this issue?

Yes, it's a true marine engine - even has a water pump...runs 180 all day, 50 or 100 degrees outside.

The package actually has the same power of a stock bbc...my freinds stock 454/berkley has nothing on me - pretty damn close.

Still burn the same amount of gas though. My quadrajet is as large as his Holley.

Thats unbelievable!  I did not expect that at all. I worked the deal on the boat from oregon. I ended up getting paid $500 and the boat & trailor. I just sold the engine. What history can you give on it?
