I found this on Craigslist and thought it was a great deal. I don't need it but someone else might. Sh*t for the price you could probably buy it.... fix it up a little(if needed)... and sell it for $1000! IMO..

I did talk to the guy, and he still has it. Seems pretty motivated to get rid of it. Says he rebuilt it for his boat but sold his boat before he could put it back in. Has an "A" impeller in it, I know that much.

I already talked to the guy and he is in Hawaii right now for about another week and then he said that he will take it out. I told him I would take it tho, just having time to sit on it made me wonder if it was a good deal.

That's what I was thinking. I know that stuffer cost a couple hundo and then all the blue printing is money too. Do the stuffers help out that much or is it a "really nice to have but you can survive without it" type part?

I found a pump on Craigslist and I was wondering if all of you think it's worth it. I do but then again, I'm fairly new to it. So here's what it's got....

What did the splash guard set you back? $$$? Looks great and i want one also for mine, would solve the problem of having to bump the gas when the wake get's to back of the boat. And how long did it take to get it?

Silverwood is not bad at all. i went there last week to test out the boat and had no problems. There is an inspection but the guy that did mine didn't have me take off any seat covers to check or remove anything. He spent a couple of minutes looking in the motor compartment, asked a few questions and i was on my way.
And as far as baffles go, i have been there 4 times and have never had to run them. I take them with me but never had to put them in. And last time i was there, there was a park ranger on the ramp verifing that i went thru the inspection and that's all. I ran the boat on the trailer in front of her for a few minutes and she never said anything.
THIS WAS ALL DONE ON A TUESDAY. So this may be the reason as to why she wasn't worried about the noise. Not too many people there to upset. I have never been on a weekend tho, it's not the biggest lake and they let 150 or so boats/jet skis on the lake at one time and that's alot for the size.
IMO, silverwood is great during the week but terrible on weekends. Just too many people.

I'm located in victorville and am looking for a reliable shop (or person) to rebuild my pump. i have a berk JC and it needs a new everything. impeller included. i can remove the pump if need be but if I can just take the boat somewhere, that works too. And if you happen to be someone that can do this, send me a $$$ and we can go from there.

No joke about loading. i have got so good at it that i walk it up.
If you have a place diverter on your boat then a trick that i use with the wake when coming to a stop.... let off the gas then point the nozzle all the way down and watch behind you. when you see the wake almost touching the back of your boat, give it a good "bump' on the gas and it should lift the back up for ya.
But like everyone has been saying, boats are different everyone you get on so what works for me may not work for you. but it's always nice to know another way to get something done.

biggest thing that people forget.... YOu let off the gas, there is no more steering. biggest difference between a jet and a prop. IMO.

Yeah... post em' up! I would run one of those but it's the same price, well a little cheaper, as the relief valve kit. I may run one in the future but don't see the need now.
I would think, after the pump and before the motor is where to mount the gauge. that way you could monitor what's going in.

i don't know about overloading my pump but I read on performancejet.com that a basic pump can generate upto 150 psi.. that is what leads me towards the block pressure also.
so from the sounds of it, i am going with the pressure relief valve sold by Performance Jet and the "MARINE" felpro gaskets. Damn, that was an easy $300...

Thanks for the input.. before putting the heads on, i had the block dipped and decked so 'ideally" that should be good. My first guess was the pump pressure because it ran fine in the driveway on the hose water, the little pressure that the hose puts out... and then once I introduced the pump, that's where the problem came in. so that's why I think it's the pump is putting out too much pressure.
so i feel I solved that problem, but i'm a rookie so what i am still hestitant on my fixes.
Still tho, if you can guide me in the direction of which gasket to use, that would be awesome. The one's that i have do have some cork material or whatever in it and you mentioned steel before. should i run steel gasket or what's the deal with 'Marine" gaskets??

So a little background... I have a gen vi 454 with dart heads (pro 1) and is now a full hydrulic roller motor. I have a jc berkeley pump with nothing special done to it, guy i bought it from said it was blueprinted but.... i have a banderlog valve now for the headers but no relief valve off the pump.
Problem, put it all together and the damn thing blew a head gasket within 5 mins of being in the water. there was so much water in the oil it seemed as if the oil was out of place more the water...
I didn't run a pressure regulator off the pump becuase it's a jc and there is nothing built about it. I put the heads on with the gasket that dart recommended, Felpro 1047 and torqued it down to 70ft lb.
My question is what head gasket to use? I understand that the one that dart recommends may be the best but not in this case. Hopefully someone on here has had some experiance and can point me down the right road.

Do you have to run water thru OTT headers that are ceramic coated? I have chrome headers now but they are turning a different colors down the pipes (closer to the motor) and it's driving me nuts!
I am trying to get a banderlog header valve right now but if I decide against it, I will pay the same amount to get the headers coated.
So... Will ceramic coated headers maintain thier finish regardless of tempurature?

That's the website that I use to check the expected water levels. If it's above 10,000 then it's a good weekend. There are times during the summer when you will see numbers like 7,500 on fridays and saturday.
Use that website alot though. Best way to do it, look at the numbers on a weekend when you go out and use that as your baseline. That way if you will be able to judge if it's going to be a great weekend, or a really great weekend. <---Damn rumors.....
