I think I'll leave the butterfly's alone....

Going to drop it in the cleaner when I leave for work in the am..... Then scrub it tomorrow night. Then start the rebuild.... But I may paint it first....

Ok. Disassembled ...... The gaskets are all petrified ...... Like a rock. No wonder it was leaking.... though I am surprised there wasn't more leakage.
Going to get the carb cleaner today.... is there a rule of thumb re: length of time I should let the parts soak?

I think I found out where the leak was.....I'm thinking the gasket is original .
There was a lot off white residue/ chunks in the float bowl .... And small deposits on the float bowl and metering block.....

Perhaps this would account for the erratic performance the last time out..... It was hesitating when I would nail it real hard.... Anyone have a suggestion for a good carb cleaner/soaker??

I usually go to Bay Springs Lake which is part of the Tenn - Tom waterway near Corinth Ms or Little Bear Creek just East of Red Bay Alabama.

I have also been up to Table Rock Lake near Branson Mo.... I also have a small lake about 15 minutes from my house I sometime hit after work....

I have heard of Tim's Ford.... It looks like a fine lake with lots of shoreline....coves etc. maybe I'll have to an a trip up there and check it out!

Here's the rest of my kids ( those left at home anyway ... I have 5)

I too remember all those times on the boat on the Delta.... or the Salton Sea.... The river...... Camping out.... Down in Mexico.....Riding the motorcycles and dune buggies at Glamis too.. And I want my kids to have those same memories.... And more.
Everything I do, all the work and frustration at times is well worth it.

Got the flu shot and have dodged that particular bullet but ...... Pneumonia and I were hanging out for about a month....been feeling better for about a week now, but that shhheet kicked my ass but good!

Only missed one day of work (1st sick day in 8 years)

I should have taken off more.

....breathing treatments every 4 hours for 2 weeks.....and my ribs FELT like they were broken.... Still a little sore .
