The No Wake Zone / Re: boiler wont light
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:33:49 AM »
thanks Glenn I have narrowed the problem down to the automatic damper. it came with a premade harness which was straight forward but there was another plug inside with a purple ,yellow, and black wire init there was a jumper across 2 of the wires  and a tag  attached saying when using the damper disconnect the jumper. there is no where within the length of the wires in the plug to plug it in but if I put the jumper back in the boiler lights.hmmmmmmm

The No Wake Zone / boiler wont light
« on: January 18, 2012, 10:32:56 PM »
I just re and re,d my boiler with a newer version of my existing boiler.its a Laars Mini therm 2  with electronic ignition and an automatic damper.I have it installed and wired and when I turn up a thermosat the zone valve opens , the automatic damper opens and the circulation pump comes on ,but the boiler does not attempt to light. this is the same boiler as I had before so it is puzzling me what is wrong .Its minus 20 her tonight with a 25 mph wind blowing out of the north and this is day 5 with only a wood fireplace and a gas log fireplace for heat .Any ideas, anybody wants to make a house call . thanks guys

Dead Horse Theory
The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that "When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount."

However, in government more advanced strategies are often employed, such as:

1. Buying a stronger whip.
2. Changing riders.
3. Appointing a committee to study the horse.
4. Arranging to visit other countries to see how other cultures ride dead horses.
5. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included.
6. Reclassifying the dead horse as living-impaired.
7. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse.
8. Harnessing several dead horses together to increase speed.
9. Providing additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horse's performance.
10. Doing a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse's performance.
11. Declaring that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overhead and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do some other horses.
12. Rewriting the expected performance requirements for all horses.

And, of course...
13. Promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.

The No Wake Zone / how not to christmas shop with your wife
« on: December 16, 2011, 03:17:25 PM »

A couple was Christmas shopping at the mall on Christmas Eve and the mall was packed. Walking through the mall the surprised wife look up and noticed her
... husband was no where around and she was very upset because they had a lot to do.
She used her cell phone to call her husband because she was so upset, to ask him where he was. The husband in a calm voice said, hone...y remember the jewlery store we went into 5 years ago where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we
could not afford and I told you that I would get it for you one day. His wife said crying, yes I remember that jewlery store. He said, well................................... ... I'm in the bar next to it.

Merry christmas Guys
