I wish I could make it but new job and prior engagements(sp) are keeping me from going to the river much. Plus saturday the boat gets to go back to the gel coater because I decided to back the boat into the damn electrical box in my driveway, and i took a chunk of gell off the cap area about 3 inches long..... Really ruined my day

OR just load up 2 into an energy drink can. Personally I dont risk it at crapstaic, have way too many friends that work at that lake. And a few that are getting upper lake training this season. So I dont want to screw anything up with them.

Today is a good day! Dad got discharged from the hospital this morning. The Heart doctor/surgeon that worked on my Dad told him just how close he was to not making it and it was tough. Just wanted to say thank you again for the support.

Thanks for the support guys. Just got home from the hospital, and Dad is doing better and they were able to remove the shunt. Hopefully he will be able to come home tomorrow or tuesday. Either way it isn't soon enough for him and hes pissed because now he can't go to Indy(we were supposed to be on a plane wednesday)Again thanks for the support.

I almost lost my Dad today. At 5:30 pm my Dad suffered a massive heart attack. According to the heart surgeon he had an artery that was 100% blocked to his heart and another that was/still is about 50/60% blocked by a lesion and durring the angioplastis his heart actually slowed down and almost stopped a number of times, they had to hook him up to a pacemaker temporarily to keep him alive. The doctor told us that this was the big one in terms of sevarity, he suffered the most massive heart attack that a person can have without killing them instantly. My Dad is only 50 years old and in pretty good health,... or so we thought. Take care of yourselvs everyone, there are people in your lives that aren't ready to get rid of you just yet.

« on: May 19, 2011, 08:21:13 PM »As many of you know i have a 19ft. Hallett Bubbledeck. My question is about the foam in the bow of my boat. Whether to remove it or not. I really want to remove it so i have a place for storage (lifejackets, horseshoes, first-aid, etc...) right now i have no place for storage. What is your guys opinion on doing this? is it safe to do so? Will it ruin the ridgidity of the bow? And lastly what methods would you guys use to remove the foam? Thanks.
If it were mine I would remove it. I did on my Sanger, but it was just a shit ton of packing peanuts, yours probably has a/b foam and if i remember correctly Propless had good success with using a pressure washer to remove it. Whatever way you end up using to remove it, I garuntee you it will be a mess

UPDATE: A lot has gone on in the past few months, including a job change ( no longer building hot rods, but thats another story) I got the hull back from the gel coater last saturday and the boat is almost completely rigged and ready to go. I'm just waiting on my tax return so I can buy me a diverter, and break in the new cam and pump. Then it is boatin time for me pics to come as soon as the sun decides to come back and I can un cover the boat

There is a bunch going on even though it doesn't look like it ( and its pissing me off) Had the pump rebuilt and blueprinted by Jim at Cyclone, and scored a NOS factory sanger intake from him also( next winters project). The trailer got a goin through with all new wood and carpet, plus a new coupler for the tounge, and a fresh coat of paint. The hull is still at the gel guy and its been slow going due to the shitty weather, but we got the gel design laid out and it has been in the booth for a week but its been too cold to shoot it, so hopefully it will get shot this week. Decided to stick with pretty much the factory layout for the gel

if it is just superficial chips and scratches on the bottom side there is no reason to worry about them or need to fix them but if you must I would use a little mar-glass or kitty hair to fill then paint/ gel as required
