Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: anybody running predator carbs?
« on: February 17, 2010, 10:42:57 AM »
I had an old 750 3310 that I was running on bbc that had a nasty solid lifter cam. A crusty mechanic had me drill a small hole in each of the primary butterflies to make it idle. I don't remember what size hole, but they were small like 1/8" or less. It worked though.

I will probably go get the dang angle finder to double check. I'm going to try the existing stringer holes and see where that puts me and go from there.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Soft Coolers?
« on: February 08, 2010, 11:23:51 AM »
btw Nordie, I have a small cooler that I've been using for about a year and it works pretty good. We've been using it for the desert runs and at first I was concerned about how dusty it got (zipper life), but it cleans up really easy and dust hasn't hurt the zipper function.

I've never used one, but I know a lot of people have these and swear by them. I'm going to get one this year, I hope they're worth the $

The No Wake Zone / Re: heated seats not working
« on: February 03, 2010, 07:42:38 AM »
I used mine this morning.  They work in two minutes.  The heater works in about 10   >:(
Invest in an alarm with remote start, set your heater (or a/c in summer) on high and fire it up before you have to leave. It's a must for the desert!!!

Have the case welded. That what I did on my 87 CR500. Caught a rock, busted out 2" diameter hole. Welded patch on, no leaks. Went out and bought skid plate after that though.
