Now theres an idea, but insted of welding it get some Architectural angle so you can make them out of one piece, then  just inlet the sides of the plate the thickness of the material.

Okay, Parts are on order........ Many thanks to Propless and Josh for the help and ideas.  I'll keep you all posted on this disaster.  

I will offer that the interior framework is done, Glue n Screwed, Resin'd n Glassed.  Ended up taking 8" out of it and redoing all the wood but the seat backs.

Okay, I'm gonna have to fly the rooke card here and admit you guys have cornfused me.  Can you explain it more???   PS...incase it's not obvious, I havent cut any fins yet. That is just a foamfiber board that I use to make my templates before I start cutting. They use it to protect documents/photos when their shipped and I always grab onto some when it's handy.  The shapes of the fins are completely up for debate.

Thanks everybody......ps...I got the pump plate wetsanded and polished, the wood seat interior framed up and have begun laying on resin and glass to lock it together and started laying the new carpet before I ran out of energy and gave up. I'll post up pics tomorrow..

Got it Tommy, I just need to see if mine is worth saving/modifying given it's more bent up than I had realized or if I just need to make a new one.  I also have some ideas to make the fins a bit swoopier (is that a word?).

Gotta remember, jets are the scurge up here. 99% of the jets up here are either PWC and those aluminum fishing boats.  Very few folks are interested in a big, 30+ year old boat with a big motor.

Hell, Malcolm up here picked up a cherry 19' spectre last year for around 2K. 

We'll see, with my luck, everyone will want it and it'll sell for 4K.....

Thanks for the info and pics Glass.  That boat of yours is sick!  I don't know if I'll pull the trigger on this but me and the Punk Azz Kid will prolly cruise the action in a few weeks and see what the bidding is like. A boat like this one or our lil 18' is the scourge of the NW so I wouldnt expect many if any to bid on it.   Curious to see what happens.

Okay, I need this boat like a gunshot to the head but, I live an 1/8th of a mile from an awesome saltwater boat launch that allows me to go anywhere in some very proctected waters.  I've taken the Brendella out there for years but would prefer not to if possible. The nearest fresh water is almost two hours away so I'd like to find a salt boat that had some style too.

Lo and behold I saw this at an auction place and thinking to myself,

• Room for Jan and I? Check
• Room for Kids and Grandkids? Check

• Room for Coats, Blankets (yah, I'm in washington remember)? Check
• Room for Coolers? Oh Yah!!!

• Bitchin Style? Serious
• No more worrying about getting swamped like that stupid Trophy tried to do to us in the middle of the bay? Check

• Potentially cheap to pick up? Check
• Able to Cocktail cruise but not much more speed than that so anybody could borrow it? Check

I'm diggin this boat but I don't know what it is. Anybody got any ideas?  Jets are rare in these parts....

Ok the tank is fixed. Sorry no pics. I did not have the camera with me. I first washed the tank out with the aluma-brite stuff. Cleaned the crack, fired up the Dynasty 300DX machine to 80 amps. The tanks are only .065 or so. I also backpurged the tank with pure argon for a while before I began to weld. As I got a puddle going the crack was migrating to the left and right like a bitch. It ended up being about a 11" long weld. Hooked up my pressure test jig and put 5 psi inside the tank. Shit, still a leak where I cannot even see a crack. Welded the bastard up some more. Re-pressure check and spray with soapy water, no leaks.
Good to go. Got the tank in the boat with the new vent lines and all -12AN fittings and lines going to the water/filter seperator. Just a few more things tol do on my list before I get it in the water again.

Crap TJ, I'm sorry to see this thread but knowing your craftsmanship, I'm betting we all think it's better now than it was even before your whoops.

Kinda reminds me of a bazillion years ago when I was a teenager, had a bare small block setting on the work table at home and set a head on the locating dowels without putting any bolts in, turned my head to grab something and that sumbitch popped off the pins and fell from the 4' landing right on my big toe........Note to the gang here, cast iron heads and toes don't mix.  I smashed the shit out of it and didnt even crack the head.....
