if you're blowing intake RTV in the corners whats your crank/valvecover breather situation?  you have adequate venting? do you have a hose going to the intake to suck out or are you just venting?

AN refers to army/navy ... Same like NPT stands for national pipe thread. Any NPT will work for any brand NPT...much the same as any AN will work for any brand AN...

i said the same thing... and AN is the army/navy 37* fitting whereas JIC is the industrial equiv at 37*.

AN refers to the angle at which the fittings come together to make the seal.  they should never leak, but when they DO its because one fitting is used with a different hose and it doesnt seal well.  if you're gonna use a summit fitting, use a summit hose, earls fitting, earls hose, etc.

as far as "cheaper" in my opinion you get what you pay for.  the ones i ordered from jegs/summit faded QUICKLY and the ones on ebay the anodizing was removed when sprayed with WD40 when assembling them... i have have 0 problems with my earls fittings that i replaced them all with.

I understand that, but random Craigslist finds of unmolested diesels is hard to find let alone crew cabs in that price range. Like I said if you see one post a link please!

nahi understand.  i was looking for 7.3l excursions and trying to find one that didnt have some crappy canned tune or gauges in the apillar with the boost cranked way up was unpossible.  and the few gems that you did find were priced easily 5-7k over the others.  i couldnt justify spending high 20's for an old car like that.

Yeah I definitely have looked at some diesels but just at the price range they all have quite a few miles and that kinda worries me, I know definitely won't be a 6.0 haha but let me know if anyone sees a good deal

300k on a diesel is the breakin process...

At 4 psi???
should take 10 easy...

Dan'l

id bet that at 10psi you'll see every single weakpoint of that home built system.  and then you'll have to homebrew some parts to fix it.   4 psi all day.  its a pretty tidy little setup too compared to some ive seen.

Runs freaking awesome. Had it in Parker last weekend. Flew out of the water. No need for an intercooler. The boost is set really low. I never got past 4 psi.

I'm starting to lean that way. I'm thinking it's a series of off the shelf parts pieced together into this system. Original owner was a race car driver, so wouldn't surprise me.

Sent from my iPhone using SoCalJetBoats mobile app

does it work?  my only worry would be no intercooler.  it looks like a blow through carb sits in teh box and is directly mounted to the intake manifold.
