 Scared of the Daytona ??  If theres a boat around here to be scared of this is it Ralph.  The Daytona is a big old day cruiser compared to this. 

 The WJ is definitely coming out, there will be NO Jacuzzi pumps in my boats anymore.

 It will NOT be painted like a farm animal.

 Not sure on colors yet.  Ive only seen pics of 2 others, and they where both black (so no black).

 Ray is crazier.    At least for now, but wait till you see what I have in mind for the dash on this one. 

 Spent a little time on it tonight.  Got the old gauges, steering, throttle pedal, seat, and rails out.  The seat must weigh 100lbs, its the heaviest seat Ive ever seen (for its size).  And you wont believe this one !!  The throttle pedal was bolted to the hull, there where 2 Allen head bolts showing from the inside (see last pic).  So I figured someone put nuts under the boat to bolt it down. No, they where just threaded into the fiberglass, so now I have a couple holes in the bottom of the boat to fix.  The pump, fuel tanks, and other assorted stuff should be out by the weekend. Then I can get started on the bulkhead and the big blob of foam. Still not sure how I'm going to squeeze under there to get that foam out.

 Well, here we go again !!  I have a new project. 

 Its a 77 Brendella tunnel.  I picked it up last winter from SoCal and had to drive through the snow (both ways) to get it.  Its in really sad shape, but I just love the way it looks.

 Its got a Jacuzzi pump (WJ), a flat keel, a bow full of foam, a broken bulkhead (3 pieces), no room inside (total int room is 8' long X 43" wide), and it had a Chevy in it.    But its first issue is the paint.  Without getting into the design and color choices  , the paint is cracked like a broken window.


 I started to try to sand it off, didnt work, it turned to gum as soon as the sander touched it.    Some of it was easy to remove with a paint scraper.


 There where 3 paint jobs on it over the original gel. So, eventually I gave up on the sanding and scraping, and moved on to paint stripper.    Its now down to the original gel (mostly) The good news is 90% of the cracking is gone now, most of it was just in the paint.  Theres still some on the deck, but it looks like it stops at the gel and doesn't go into the glass. The bad news is, some crackhead tried to fix some stress cracks by glassing over one of the paint jobs.  So I have a bit of glass work to do.








This where I'm at now.  Next is to get the broken bulkhead and the bow full of foam out of there.  That means I have to take the seat out, so no more sitting there day dreaming and making vroom vroom noises.

X3, You need ground the relay.  It grounds through its mounting tabs, mount it to something thats grounded, or run a ground wire to its mounting bolt.

LOL, That looks about right.  I'm sure the deck was the problem the whole time anyway. 

 BTW, dont remove the amp the same way, you probobly just blew a fuse somewhere. 

Nordie, let me get this straight.  You have 4 gauge power and ground, direct from the batt to the amp now and its still shutting off. The light on the amp dims but does not go completely off. and the deck has no issues (no dimming ect).

 Heres what I want you to try, take a volt meter and check the voltage at the amps power/ground terminals when its playing/shutting off. See what its showing then do the same thing at the batt, if theres a big difference the problem is in the wires (doubtful with 4ga).

Also check the voltage on the remote wire (the wire from the deck that turns the amp on).  I know it doesn't really make sense but Ive seen some amps act weird like this when the remote voltage was to low. Its and easy thing to check by just temporarily jumping power from 12v at the amp to the remote terminal (disconnect the wire from the deck) and see if it helps. If it helps just put a relay on there to power up the amp.

 The cap might help and you can use the same 4ga wire you have for the amp for the cap. The cap just stores power, so put it as close to the amp as possible on the amps power/ground wires. No separate wires running back to the batt for the cap.  In sure you already know, but be sure to properly charge the cap before installing it, dont just connect it or it will make BIG spark thats not good for the cap.

 Like AQUAHOLIC said, dont worry, we can figure this out.    It would just be so muck easier if I could get me hands on it.

From what I remember, Sanger did build and actual hydro with a "pod" for the jet and the tunnel came later...I could be wrong about it being a Sanger though...I'm older now

Never had any problem using car tires myself, but my boats rarely leave the yard.

Great looking hulls, I bet I have close to that into my project before its ready to rig (if I count my own labor realy cheap  ).  If he started building these 6mo ago there would be one in my garage.

Glen,  the only way you and I are ever going to get our boats wet is if we put them in a bedroom. 

 Hope you get it handled and theres not much damage.  Mine is almost back to normal now, 2 more rooms and lots of trim to paint.
