Engine Mechanical / Electrical / engine offset
« on: January 19, 2010, 12:52:41 PM »
How much offset should the engine have from the pump to give the driveline the slight angle it needs? 1/2", 1"???

606
Thanks guys, this should work. My other concern is that I'm converting from Ammeter to Voltmeter. I'm thinking I can use the existing wiring, just change the signal source from alternator??? I can't remember, its been 10 years since the last time I did any major wiring lol.

607
Got that one too Boost, I'm looking for the Dash harness diagram.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Does anyone have Dash Harness Diagram?
« on: January 16, 2010, 04:40:34 AM »
I found the terminal block diagram and engine harness diagram, but I'm looking for the dash harness diagram for ignition, guages, and switchs.
Thanks,
Sam

Got a pretty straight pair of BBF Rewarder twisties, a little rust in the usual spots (collectors) and water lines a little bent up from shipping when I got them. I was going to have them ceramic coated. Looking to trade for BBC twisties or sell for $300 OBO. Pics to follow (got to recharge camera batt lol) Free local pickup here, Glamis dunes, or Martinez lake (delivery to San Diego or LA or PHX is negotiable).

I'll one up on the Jerry Springer sitch, in 2006 I got a call from my wife's gay ex-husband that my wife was cheating on me with a dude she met in a religeous chat room. But like Nordie said, it all works out for the better. I divorced her, met my new wife (the one who told me my motor needs more cam and horsepower lol) and I'm happier than ever in that aspect. I hear ya on the financial thing. I work for the State of Comifornia and Arnie jacked my pay for 15% (which was more than my boat budget) and the overtime dried up. But I can see that it will get better. It may take a few but it will get there. Hang in there Bro, and remember to take it easy....and if it's easy, take it twice!!!

I've had trouble in the past with the side door of a garage. Some pos tried to break into my garage. He broke the 1" dead bolt easily. Luckily for me I had my Snap On Roll cab backed up against it and he couldn't force the door open enough to squeeze by.  I found these badazz brackets that I lag screwed into the studs around the door frame and it allowed me to put a 2x4 across the door at top and bottom of the door. I haven't installed it on my current house because door is in the back yard and theif would have to get past my 3 dogs and then push my boat over the wheel chocks to get the door open. I will have to soon because the gap will open up when I finally get a place diverter and install it. Anyway, found the brackets at Holmes Depot. They were pretty cheap.

I believe they are Venolia pop ups. It's offset ground crank for 4.15 stroke, so that should equal 501cid. Thanks for the info on the oil press. Luckily I've only ever taken press reading from back of BBFs. I never thought of reading it from front. I like the two guage idea, but I have no room for a second one. I already had to give up fuel guage. I'm running Tach, OP, WT, & Voltmeter.

I have a set of 4 point mounts! And on the starter , how much compression are you running and is the timing locked out?
Are they the mounts you were using? I'm at least 11:1 if not higher like 12 or 13:1

Thanks guys, I've got the motor mounts, just need to drill new holes since they came out of narrow stringer boat. I've already been talking to Jim about the Diverter situation.
Ray is that starter a high torque mini starter. I'm going to get a high torque mini since I'm running high compression. As for the alt. brackets, I'm definitely gonna want those.

Heres some of the stuff I'm going to be selling or trading
Floor mount place diverter, some unused guages, & SB Chevy Edelbrock Victor Ram Throttle linkage kit (thought it was BBC kit that I could modify).
