Mine has full stringers and a set back pump no hook and handles pretty fricken strong. It even shuts down from top speed straight as an arrow. I was just curious oh how it stood up against other v bottoms.

I think I figured out the popping noise.  I pretty sure its due to the carbs being sideways on the tunnel ram and at cruising speeds I'm only on the primary's. also think I need to bump the timing up about 8 deg since I don't plan on squeezing it.

I run a C impeller with an inducer a top loader,droop and place diverter with a red insert and work great for me at about 6400 rpm. PD set about 3' off the water the thing really puts you in the seat. Oh yeah and a wedge

I was hoping to hear Southwind on the list but oh well. I figure if its fast enough to make my heart beat out of my chest and make my hands shake after a hard fast run its good enough for me. Thanks for the great info.

When I sell something I don't sell to friends or locally for the simple reason I never want to see it again. The one and only time I did was my 67'Elcamino it was my hot rod and sold it to a so called friend a year later got a letter in the mail and was being sued for 25,000 after the idiot crashed it drunk and fled the seen. So I hunted him down had him sign a new bill of sale and gave that and his new address to the suing party and luckily never heard from them or the buyer again. Lesson learned!!!! Not to mention he ruined a beautiful car and friendship.

Havasu is about a ten minute tow from the driveway. The in laws in Isabella  is about a 4 1/2 / 5 hour drive so it's highly unlikely that puddle will see my boat.

I have to agree with GT the hot rod boats aren't ment for a ten mile race. But you can't beat the adrenaline you get from stabbing the throttle in a 750 HP boat for a few seconds. Their really isn't anything to compare it to for me anyway. Maybe back in my hot rod days my 67'Camaro put me in the seat but that even had its limitations 45mph at 3000 rpm on the freeway with 4:88 gears but slamming a 4 gear with a 300 shot of nitrous and getting up on the tire was pretty exciting. Now I just do it on the water. If I want a ten mile cruise I just put the family boat in the water. I say for jet boating the more cubes the better!!!!

That site is the one and only reason I traded my Harley for an ass kicking jet boat and have been hooked ever since. This coming season I plan to attend each and everyone of your events. I may be an old fugger 51 but I feel like a kid again. I'm constantly on this site and can't get enough. I'm a little sad that the site has slowed down a bit but I'm a die hard reading post after post learning everytIme I read one. Can't wait to meet all of you as soon as the season starts up. Living in Havasu my season is never really ends I plan on hitting the water at least once a month December is next on the list. Thank you to all the SCJB'ers for giving this old beat up man something to do everyday.

Great info guys I think I'll just be happy with my sw18 the wayy it is and live to talk about. I know it will do over 100 with nitrous but ill be leaving the bottle at home.

I thought a gulwing was a tunnel. I've always heard that a Bahner was a light fast hull. For some reason I have fear of flipping in a tunnel that isn't there when I'm in a v bottom. Maybe because my step dad flipped a gulwing potato chip when I was younger. But that was at 130 mph. I'm not concerned about reaching those speeds but I think 105/110 mph Is possible. Just don't know if it is in my SW18
