Cars / Automobiles For Sale / 4 sale 1988 Toyota 4x4
« on: May 03, 2009, 07:34:43 AM »
This is a great running truck , i just want something bigger. I found a really nice Blazer at my neighbors house that fits the bill so this is up for sale now.

It does need some TLC but what truck this age dont. Could use a new master and slave cylinder for the clutch..

It gets great gas mileage and will most likely pass smog since it came from Vegas.
it has a 4" front suspension and 2"rear with the Ivan Stewart fiberglass front end , has COLD AC , Headers into a Borla tip. K&N forced air induction, jet chip, aftermarket ignition. just had a new timing belt installed do to the water pump leaking so i had it all replaced.

the engine is a V6  3.0 EFI... with about 45K on it truck has over 200K Nothing for a Yota :sly:

the 4x4 is tight in it Just ask Ryan Brindle ;D It sits on BFG's 33x12.50x15 and nice aluminum rims... i will add more to this listing when i think of it..

If you want pics let me know, cause i will have to go wash it O0
$2500

High VOLUME  and high PRESSURE are two different things:

Put your old pump on, shit can the gauge and lets go  ::)

If it aint pushing fuel past the needle and seat, put that M****R F****R in the G*D D**N water

Peace

Not gonna ruin my first day out with it , volume/pressure whatever it still needs to be regulated and beside that pump is probably sold..

the new pump is installed and plumbed, will get wired tomorrow and will be running again

Steve, I've been following your post and noticed that you were recently having all kinds of fuel pressure issues. I have a Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator that I don't need. Not sure if you still need one or not but this one is for sale. I only used it once, but I obviously can't return it and I don't need it so.....do you still need one? It can be adjusted btwn 4.5 and 10 psi. I will also throw in the two AN fittings you see in the pic if you want them. They are 3/8 NPT to -6.

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks Nick ;)

But i just installed an Electric pump and won't be needing a reg.  thanks for keeping me in mind, much appreciated.......

probably some of the best advice i ever got from someone was 'never do business with river people'.

Thats right , cause we will rip you off and talk shit about you......... I wasnt going to say anything but you just put me in the middle . Yes i am a river person why cause i live at the river...

So watch out people , the river people are bad , nothing but liers , cheats , scoundrels, stab you in the back type people!!!

Thats right people... just ask anyone who has done business with the savage... I fuk them all........

take a look around you is your world perfect till you come to the river... thats right better lock up tight the river is a bad bad place.
I have remained quiet on this JR, BULLSHIT you people dont have a fukin clue what happened that day.. Updates hell yes but telling you fence sitters would just be ignorance on my part..

And i don't want to fall into your category.

So go ahead and bash the ol sav or even ban me.........IDGAF

I dont understand why u cant drill 4 holes in the bellhouseing cover and tap them out for some 1/4" bolts. Could be done without removing motor.
Am I missing something, it wouldnt be the 1st time.

I am also getting one , and i will have no problem drilling and tapping as needed.

Jus go for it man  ;)

Although I read down thru the middle of this Steve the key here (assuming I read right ) might be race gas ? I had two "summit pumps" fail in short order on the Schiada the valving (little internal neopreme flaps) seemed to be crazed by the fuel itself Tom

I was just thinking about that this morning ???

O'well im sending it back and maybe going to get an electric pump... well see

Did you unhook the line from the carb and try to pump "gas"  into a milk carton?

Remember  "grass hopper"  new parts can be junk too.   They are just shinier   ;D

I forget who said that....   ;D

Yes, i did ;)

put your old pump back on , shit can the gauge and lets go..... ::)

Exactly what im doing and ordering a reg.......... ;D

I think 2Sav is on the right track. The summit pump was junk (Go figure, lol), and so is his guage, (which, and correct me if I'm wrong Steve, came from Jeg;s or Summit as well?).

My opinion, which is like assholes, everyone has one, I think you were getting false readings in the first place. I'm gonna peruse your posts to see where you installed the guage, but I would assume a faulty guage. No Way a mechanical can produce that (Short of a custom deal).

Yeah, maybe a Nascar pump, but c'mon, Mine works O/T to do 7 psi with two carbs and mine is a race Pump!

Steve, I would do this. And this is just me as I'm in retail and given todays economy. Call Summit and tell them their pump is junk (be an asshole, I know you can). They'll offer to replace it, but you don't want that Chinese junk. And i'd tell them just that, then ask for a manager. Then ask for HIS boss. Keep bitching (I know you can) until you get what you want. I guarantee you can get a good pump for free and over nited. (I would push for a new guage too, as that seems to be the root of all the evil)

Just me, and everyone, do NOT come into my store this way, I'm smarter than that, lol

Ray

Already have a return packing slip from Summit , i told them refund my money i don't want no junk... No problem ;) My Edelbrock pump works great, just going to add a reg to it as it is there race pump series.......

And i should be good to go ;)

IN = is the input to the carb

OUT = is the out from the tanks

Great point Terry!
Might be the SBC pump.
Just a little confused why your working in this direction.  ???

-beerjet-

I thought about a reg ,  but having a new reg and a used pump didnt appeal to me, so i thought i would just make it as simple as i can and go with a new pump.

I will probably end up sending this back to Summit..... and get a reg..... You know me , always over thinking shit!!!!

Im going out to try an old trick. disconnect the fuel line from the pump and put air in the tank and if i have a good flow...... Pumps trash :sly:

Pull the plug just under the pump to see if pump arm is under push rod

Can't i tried when i was installing the pump......

I greased the push rod so it would stay up in the block long enough for me to get the pump in there.

Im starting to think its my fuel water sep... Maybe its got air in it.. Whats that plastic thingy on the bottom of the filter ???

I was thinking i needed to prime it better but after twenty min of playing with it , i give up...... I know i have about 5gal per tank of race fuel so that should be enough to prime it. I think i will go fill both tanks just because.. if that dont work , off comes the new pump and back to square one :banghead:

If i could only find a Barry grant BBC mech pump, but everywhere i look they are out

jegs has the BG 9 psi but not instock or anytime soon.

I also have a water fuel seperator that i disconnected to add the new line to....... ???

When i started the carribean the fuel gauge went to 15-20psi instantly...
With this pump.

So i figured it was a hi volume pump and swapped it out with a 8 psi from Jegs.
This one. ( exact copy of a Holley )

Just got all my parts to finish up my fuel line and tried to start her...

If i pump the carb it will idle till it runs out of gas , and now im showing NO FUEL pressure at all ???

Now the other pump , bump the key and it sat their and ran flawlessly. But showed hi psi ???

Is my gauge f-up......

I cracked the fuel lines and their is fuel in them , but for some reason the carb is acting like its not getting enough fuel...

Now the guy that i bought this carb from said it needed to have 10psi at all times to run, but i didn't believe him i thought that was a little high....

I also installed a inline fuel filter , it has a flat screen for the filter... Now if i installed it backwards would that block the flow ???

I wouldn't think so but if thats my problem i would be happy mo fo....

Any suggestions :sly:
