Some of my buddies and I ride, but it scares me all the time. You have to think if it worth it to risk your life like that. I think it was about 3-4 years ago, I witnessed a girl that lost her life riding a dirt bike getting creamed by a sand rail 300 yards off Gecko in Glamis. Makes you think twice about Glamis. It could have been me or my buddies. We were just behind the rail.

I also went to high school with Kyle Loza. He won gold metal for best trick in the X Games the last 2 years in a row.

I am pretty much over riding anymore. I don't have time to, its expensive, and I'll have more money to throw towards the boat. Haven't ridden in over a year and don't really plan on riding anytime soon either. Probably put the quad up for sale.

Condolences to the Lusk family.

Jet Pumps / Re: Berkley "E" Pump.....
« on: February 06, 2009, 06:06:13 PM »
I have an E pump. I was told by Jack at MPD that it is a descent pump. It's not going to win any races but for cruising its fine. It used to push my boat to 64 MPH before the engine blew up. It doesn't have a split bowl, so droops are not an easy option. The hand hole on the outside makes it easier to get to. It bolts directly to the transom so no need for a transom adapter. To own or not to own really depends on what you are trying to do with your boat.

I have a set of Glenwood logs and snails in good condition for BBC. I took them off this summer to install OT Bassett's. They are polished.

I'm probably gonna plesh out. Too crowded on holiday weekends. Plus less toys this year. My buddy totaled his frankenstein 47 Willy's Trophy Jeep and sold the motor home. I hate "real" camping.

After rolling end over a few times at 65 MPH.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: How do you select a cam ?

I would call George at Clay Smith Cams. When I told him what I wanted for my motor rebuild, he told me exactly what I need and which cam to use to add a little more power.

I'm glad I don't live there. What a BS law. Tall cans (24 oz) are the way to go. They can make a long work day shorter.  ;D

WTB / Re: looking for a 750cfm carb for a 454 (stock)
« on: September 22, 2008, 07:47:27 PM »
I have a recently rebuilt 750 (3310) with vac secondaries or a 750 DP. The 3310 came off my 454 before I blew it up. The 750 came from a running BBF 460, but it would be a safe bet to rebuild.

I have been to K1 Irvine and Dromo 1 in Orange. Both are a blast. I think K1 might be a little faster, but Dromo carts have more feel to them. You can feel the throttle, not just on or off like the electric carts. There's also a place off the 405, I wanna say around Carson but not sure. Its on the right going north bound kinda by where the Goodyear Blimp is parked. I heard they have multiple tracks and multi-story tracks. I have not been there myself. Anyone have any experience with this place?

Sucks to hear that happened. If your crank is 10 under, it may still be re-usable. Mine is 40 under.

SoCal Lakes / Re: What would be the best...

Elsinore is the only one I know of that doesn't have a speed limit. If you are looking to just test out your boat, Irvine lake has private test sessions. It runs $100 for about an hour or so, but its a midweek thing when the lake is closed. Jim Wilkes of Wilkes Marine is the guy to contact for that. Plus you can go as loud and as fast as you want. It was worth it for us between the time saved fighting traffic to go to the toilet bowl Elsinore, gas prices, and launch fees.

I got one that I was going to use, but my motor blew up so it won't be used any time soon. Its probably closer to a core and could use a rebuild. I got it off ebay and haven't had a chance to really go through it. You can have it for $150 as is.
