The No Wake Zone / Re: Coolest car you ever owned....
« on: December 06, 2010, 06:21:38 PM »
1970 Pontiac GTO "THE JUDGE".
Bought the car in Atlanta Ga. in 1980, when I was 16 years old, drove it a few years with old paint and 100,000 miles on it, then rebuilt her and then sold it after finding how fast and cool motorcycles were.

Random Boat Parts For Sale / WTB 460 Front Mount or Swap
« on: November 18, 2010, 10:44:05 AM »
I snagged this pic from Nordie.  ;)

I have the water pump cover ( top part ) already. It was on my engine that was set up with a 3 point mount. I bought a brand new Glenwood front mount that has the round hole for the crank. Now, after seeing these Harman set ups, I think this is the route I want to go. :)

Maybe someone wants to trade for my Glenwood ? ???

I also have a Glenwood water pump cover.

I'm looking for just the bottom part of that Harman Marine front 460 engine mount. ???

If you can sell separate or have another one just like it, I would be interested. ;)

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / MOTOR MOUNTS 460
« on: August 20, 2010, 12:19:15 PM »
Here's what I have for my Ford 460 motor mount, And the next pic is something that looks like a better solution. I know they're for a BBC, but I sort of remember hearing someone say they can be slightly modified or something to work with a BBF. ???

Has anyone done this or know of a similar mount like this to replace my old, nasty, rusty, piece of junk? 8)

Now your going to have to paint the trailer the same way because of all the overspray that's on the back. ;D

Lights look like they got some too. :o

Jet Pumps / Re: HELP !!! No water circulation
« on: June 16, 2010, 08:47:19 AM »
I don't know if you fixed it yet or not, but I had the same thing happening to me and found out it was a weak hose that had a kink in it. At idle it would be kinked and not let enough water to cool the engine, under throttle it would straighten the hose allowing for the proper flow. The hose was too soft and a bit to long. Swapped them out for hard wall hoses and problem fixed.

Why don't you just open up the hole in the hub with some sandpaper ? ???

I'm sure Harbor Freight has some small mandrel sanding bits that would do the job. ;)

Jesse called himself a loser on his chopper show when he lost his hot wife and kid.

When you lose your family to divorse, you've failed. No matter who's fault, there's no winners, just losers. Now going from porn stars, to movie stars, to strippers, what a great father figure.

I would agree with your assesment of price and quality.

But about the brand, I can remember when Craftsman meant the best.

Now, Half the stuff with Craftsman written on it is made in China.

Well, It's a darn good thing he took out that theft insurance for a $15,000 value. ;)

U-joints without the drilling for zerks are stronger. It's also possible that the cheaper ones were made overseas. When it comes to something like u-joints,  for a car or boat, buy the best you can find. Avoid the cheap stuff sold by most chain auto parts stores.

Do you really think that because it's expensive, then it's got to be the good stuff ?

There is a whole lot of CHINA stuff, all dressed up, nice and pretty looking, and you would swear it was made here, but it wasn't.

Trailers / Re: switching to winch< lets see your trailers
« on: November 03, 2009, 11:59:41 AM »
Keep it simple, and clean. Still in the process of redoing the trailer, but swingaway tongue, and electric brakes are in order.

I also framed up an area for some aluminum tread plate just beyond the winch.

Matt, That looks sweet!

If you really got 6 mph out of that plate, I'd like to see some close up pics.

I think I'm going to put in full length engine stringers, and run some outer stringers to hold up a floor that will run just about where the dash is.

I'm afraid the weight I am adding will slow the boat down, so anything I can do without blowers or turbos will be welcomed ideas.

  Thanks, Len

I just recently installed u-joints in my Avalanche and also in my Crown Vic.

The parts were only like $9 w/ 1year or $17 for the lifetimes.

Thing was the cheaper ones had the zerks. Very easy to install in my opinion.

Just thought I'd show off a small custom upgrade to my engine that didn't cost much.

Scored  some cheap braided teflon hose, on Craigslist, that fit in place of my water hose.

Then I took some thin aluminum tubing and fabed up some clamp covers.

That's Lake Superior, and you can see the shore line of the famous Picture Rocks in the back ground.

OK, The jigs up. It's not my boat, I just saved this pic for the paint job and used it as a test for resizing.

 Here's my Spectra.
