Thanks everyone. As soon as I get to run it I'm sure I'll have some questions for you all.

Boat Showcase / Hello from a new member..
« on: June 24, 2015, 07:38:58 PM »
Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and have even posted a few replys. Want to start off by saying this is a great forum and I love that everyone acts like friends (and actually are friends) here.

I have grown up in Iowa being fortunate enough to frequent my parent's lake house all my life (sold a few years ago). My dad was a hot boat enthusiast so naturally I grew up with the bug. He never had anything really wild but following his death I inherited his 76 cobrajet and 86 Taylor LP stern drive. Last year I sold the cobrajet and purchased a 76 eliminator bubble deck. Turns out the seller lied to me and the pump was shot. I've spent the last few months fixing up the boat and its finally ready to test. Here are some pics of my progress. It came with a really early dominator pump. Work done includes pump rebuild with blueprinted bronze impeller, inducer, loader, new bowl, new place diverter, rail engine mount kit(curtacey JPB), a few new gauges and misc. Upgrades. The boat was sold to me as having some work done internally to the olds but upon my inspection it looks stock. Hope to put it in the water for the first test run this weekend. I'll post some pics of the whole boat when the rain quits and I get it outside to clean it up. Here's what I've got so far..

It always bugged me that Roman suggests that they rent a jet boat but then its a v-drive. Sweet boat though.

Jet Pumps / Re: Need help identifying pump..

That looks like the dominator that came in my boat. Mine happened to be serial number 20! Very early and no ribs on the suction housing. Nozzle looks the same. Make sure you get a Dom diverter or swap the droop. Dom steering oring diameter is a little larger. I haven't run mine yet but I think it's going to leak around the Teflon because I have a standard diverter.

If bunger doesn't take you up I might be interested. Do you have some pics of the setup?

Don't know if any of you guys have seen these but you'll appreciate them.  I have a modified NQD but its nothing close to this one. His has a bigger jet drive and a huge motor. I'd love to have one of those weed eater powered sprint boats.

Jet Pumps / shifter cable help
« on: April 18, 2015, 11:20:30 AM »
I recently purchased a 76 eliminator bubble deck. I'm having the pump worked over and adding a hydraulic diverter. When I got the boat the shifter cable was held in place on the tiller arm by some home made clamp on one side and a worm clamp on the other. I believe this is because the cable is a 43c series rather than the bulkhead style 43bc. Does this sound right. The only pump I've seen with the clamp style cable is the Berk je with the bottom mount cable. Is there some kind of retainer for this cable to work with a standard top down Berk/place arrangement or am I screwed?
