« on: February 18, 2011, 11:18:37 PM »

V-Drives / Steering Questions
« on: February 17, 2011, 08:01:22 PM »
So I need new steering cables for my V-Drive and Im not sure what route to take.. Do I need to pull the cables, measure them, and order new ones or should I be looking into a rack and pinnion style conversion? Iv heard its possible and fairly simple to change over to the rack and pinnion style but I have no experience with ANY steering setups. Any ideas?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Stock 454 Speeds
« on: February 16, 2011, 09:39:32 PM »
This is just going to be a reliable motor until I build something bigger and then it'll be a back up. Id be happy with 60mph out of it for now. I have an intake, 850 Holley, hyd cam, high cap oil pan, and some other small things. It'll work for now!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Stock 454 Speeds
« on: February 16, 2011, 02:16:41 PM »
I have been trying to find a good priced 468 online and its just not happening! They're either out of my price range or sold right away.. So heres my question.. If I cant get ahold of one, I already have a stock 454 2 bolt with some little stuff on it but internally stock. What kind of speeds would I be seeing if I was stuck with the stocker? I know it depends on my whole setup but maybe some of you that have run a stocker could give me some numbers. Its either going in the sleekcraft with a berkely or an Eliminator with a casale Vdrive (dont know gear ratio yet). Also.. How much would you guys think is a reasonable price to pay to have it hot tanked and looked over? I pulled the heads and everything looked fine but Id want to be sure about it before I threw it in a boat. Thanks!

I have a S&W .357 Magnum revolver with the 7 shot cylinder. It has a 7 inch barrel and its actually pretty damn accurate. Its a perfect gun as a hunting side arm or just to go shooting. The best part about it is that every time I have a girl shoot that doesnt like the kick or the noice I can throw in .38 shells and its a totally different gun. They seem to like the weight and lack of kick with the .38s and you can still toss .357s in if you have to do damage. I love it!

You can do what I planned on doing before I found out my truck was a none cat truck.. Go to a muffler shop and get any used cat and hollow it out. Its just a visual inspection. My brother did it on his 02 duramax and it passed with no problems at all. Think the shop charged him 50 bucks for the everything.

Totally forgot about the registration! Yah, it maxes out around 60 bucks for the highest HP. I think its anything over 250 horse. To tell you the truth I made it out 6 times with year with the flatty without buying a sticker. Just have to be on your toes when you see the sheriffs coming around. They actually stopped the boat inspection so that they have the right to board your boat legally to check. The ONLY time Iv ever seen them do that is when theres a wakeboard boat with 30 drunk people dancing and screaming. They usually lay off the people just enjoying the lake and having a few beers but if your acting hammered drunk they will get you.  If your traveling up here Id deff. say to hit Shaver. Iv never boated on Pine Flat but Iv heard alot of good about it. Millerton is always way to damn hot for me!

I wonder if that was the same storm that came through my job site.. Were out in Mojave and it came out of nowhere, We got tons of rain and a ton of high winds with lightning. Hotel lady said it started 4 new fires in 20 minutes. Just a crazy day for weather!

SoCal Lakes / Re: Bass Lake?
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:56:57 PM »
They are pretty strict on most of the rules.. Mostly because its usually pretty busy and ALOT of people try to see how drunk they can get in daddys boat and haul ass everywhere. Im taking the party barge out there tomorrow then Redinger on sunday. If you have a boat thats loud and/or fast.. Id suggest Redinger for sure. Its a skinny but fairly long lake so the wake breaks fast. Maybe 30 people a day go out there because its not the prettiest of surroundings but the waters really clean. Bass Lake does get quite a few local "ballers" in therebig cats and off shore style boats but they usually only make 2 or 3 runs all day and just park at a beach to show off.

75- Im sure I was out there those dates.. I pretty much live out there since its close and wet! Every year someone takes blue paint and paints over the B on the side of the Bass Lake Queen (that big ass fairy boat). I didnt see it this year but I swear it never gets old. That boats actually for sale but not advertised. I want to make a floating burger/dog saleing place. I bet Id make a killing on the lake!

I go there usually twice a week.. What are you wanting to know? I was actually there this morning launching my party barge for a coworker to borrow. Lake waters kinda gross and its usually pretty rough depending on the time and the day. Tons to do around the lake though, and nice camp sites.
